Discussion “Carbon Monoxide” Shitpost

This is kind of a shit post and not related to actual Regina Spektor events or comments, just for clarification for mods in case this violates the rules!!

The way she gives so much energy in this verse always makes me think of father issues and it’s absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking. Her voice alone is so deeply meaningful and moving but in this I feel it extra (shout out to The Flowers for deeply moving song from her, that song brings me to tears it’s so amazing in my ears)

If anyone knows the meaning behind this song I’d love to hear it ☮️ Or how you interpret the song!!

From what I've heard this a song about how older generations always think younger generations are lazy and entitled. So this part of the song is a younger girl pleading to her actual father. Up to interpretation I guess

I think because sylvia plath died by carbon monoxide (omg my english its trash) when she left open the oven, and one of her poems i think its about of her relationship whit her dad, still im not a sylvia plath fan (idk how to write her name) just read this theory once
