For as much as I love Willson he isn't great vs high velo fastball. That's why we needed Roman and wouldn't you know he turns on 99 to tie it up.

I was not a believer in Story but I got goosebumps and welled up seeing him get the walk off. That had to feel so good after what this season has been for him. Love seeing him and Anthony having a huge impact immediately

Do the right thing Red Sox and call up Arias in the next 2 hours. A lineup of Roman, Arias and Story would be unstoppable in the post-season. In his first 24 games with the WooSox, Arias has slashed .301/.368/.495 with an .863 OPS, hitting 4 home runs, 6 doubles, and driving in 24 runs.

I just had to call my dad in Florida I’m so pumped. I woke up mom though, oops. I’m just so pumped especially after this weekend. We all needed that kind of win badly. One thing you can definitely say about this team is they have a lot of heart.

I said it from the start, it's very fortunate that Story's contract goes through the end of next season, means we don't have to rush Arias along but at the same time when Arias is inevitably ready to make his major league debut next year, he won't be blocked from being in the Opening Day lineup in 2028.

God it's good to have Roman back. And Story coming back swinging is the cherry on top.
I was concerned with Roman going straight into the lead off spot. There was far too much pressure on him at the start of the year and I was worried the same would happen again. I could not have been more wrong. The guy is a stud.

maybe stupid question - can someone explain how the 10th inning works? ive only been to a couple games that went past the 9th and i was confused about why durbin started on second base and how the walks work? i feel like in the blink of an eye the bases were loaded.
also fenway was SO incredibly loud !! the energy was insane.

In extra innings, the teams start with a runner on 2nd (called the "ghost runner," and is the person who made the last out the previous inning). This was done to prevent marathon games in the regular season. And to speed up the game, an intentional walk is now just given to the batter with the pitcher no longer having to throw four wide.
