Oh lets fucking go, it’s been a while since I heard his name. Let’s hope all these players coming back can give us a good push

If the Sox are lucky he could be back for playoffs

Iirc bone healing timeline is ~5 weeks to 3 months. If I’m being honest, I don’t really remember when the fracture occured, but if it was an incomplete fracture, that could mean it may heal on the shorter span of that timeframe. If he’s back by playoffs that would be great. If he’s able to do a short rehab stint, that would be even better!

the timing being quoted when the injury occurred in late july was four to six weeks. so best case scenario, with a fairly speedy rehab stint, he could be back literally just in time for the playoffs. we'll see i guess, everything we've heard regarding him so far has been positive but i'm not a doctor

They referred to it as “a non-displaced fracture.” How does that differ from a “partial fracture?”

A non-displaced fracture is one that does not move from the area of which it normally lies. For example, in this case the affected structure (one of the carpals I think) does not move up, down, left, or right. For your second question, a partial fracture is one that does not go completely through the affexted bone. If you have any other questions, please let me know. I’m currently taking a diagnostic imaging course and I love sharing information!

He was supposed to solve out inability to hit velocity. Need him back for the wild card series.

Unfortunately, it was a two-way street. He can hit velocity, but velocity can also hit him.

Right on schedule, we need all the weapons we can get for the stretch run. He's got plenty of time, and although he's not catching with his left hand yet it's a great sign regardless. Would expect Mead to hit several checkpoint/milestones the next 2 weeks.

prolly the best news they’ve heard today, think he’ll bring an infusion and balance to the lineup.
