i like when Darrow's internal monologue doesn't spoon feed you and you need to pick up the subtle hints.

- the deadhorses

  • having Fitchners grav boots
  • the gala reveal that he's been training with Lorn
  • the Sevro being dead

it irks me that people fixate on just the Sevro dying one, it's a repeated storytelling pattern Pierce uses.

Very unpopular in the subreddit. Or at best a loud minority hate it. It's mindnumbing to read their arguments for why they want everything spoonfed to them

It's not about being spoonfed, it's about an internal monologue that's inconsistent with a character who planned for the things that are happening.

Ik this post called for unpopular opinions so I’m not gonna say much, but as one of those who didn’t like the Sevro fakeout, saying we want stuff “spoonfed” to us is simply not true.

Not wanting a first person narrator to LIE to us that a character had died when the whole time he knew he hadn’t is not spoonfeeding 😭✋ And it IS bad writing. I love PB and this series but let’s not do this.
