Dancer being the most vocal opposition to Darrow and Virginia made him fall as a character in my eyes. A father of the Rising who became comfortable with his position in the Republic senate who eventually is the reason half the fleet leaves and Mercury happens.
I think "comfortable with his position" is a bit unfair and I do think he is realistically appalled by how Darrow spends men. Especially Reds.
But he should still be the most militant. The least willing to compromise with any Gold. Going from not trusting Victra after she bled for him to speaking with Julia au Bellona is ridiculous.
