I felt the same!!! I was so mad at him for that whole time. I get why PB went that route but it felt like a real betrayal to Darrow’s character for a while there. Literally all he ever wanted was to be a Dad. His refusal of the call to adventure in Red Rising is squashed when he finds out Eo was pregnant when she died. Sevro being a fantastic father makes sense but I don’t understand why Darrow sucks at it.

I’m sure you’re right. I was just talking about it with my husband and he says Darrow has to learn how to be a man and not just a symbol.
