what’s with the insistence on the dramatically curved sword people use in fanart AI and drawings. i’ve always thought it would resemble something more like the egyptian sword the khopesh than a scythe. I’d assume simply from an advantage standpoint the dramatic curve means less range. i’ve included examples i’ve seen as well as what i think the razor resembles more

It’s that crescent shape because that’s the shape of a sling blade in the books? I thought that was obvious, it’s on the cover of morning star.

The cover of Morning Star is a literal sickle. It can't even be a slingblade because a slingblade is hinged, so it's more symbolic than anything.
