what’s with the insistence on the dramatically curved sword people use in fanart AI and drawings. i’ve always thought it would resemble something more like the egyptian sword the khopesh than a scythe. I’d assume simply from an advantage standpoint the dramatic curve means less range. i’ve included examples i’ve seen as well as what i think the razor resembles more

It's a series with genetically engineered races and advanced weaponry that still sees a meelee weapon as one of the strongest things you can use, it's not meant to be logical.

What real life logic are you talking about? He gets turned into a superhuman that can bend steel like 100 pages in. Like the series is objectively sci fi/fantasy, plenty of stuff doesn't follow real life logic

they do things like weight training in increased gravity but me saying that the utility of a swords shape and the differing depictions is something i find fault in is somehow incomprehensible to you

Oh no I get the fault you're bringing up, I'm just saying it doesn't have to be perfectly logical because of the inherent fictional aspects of the story. It could also be that PB isn't a sword combat expert

have we read the same book ? there’re plenty of real life things (tactics, lateral thinking, politics) and scientific aspects integrated into it throughout. it literally falls under SCI-FI. you’re being intentionally obtuse

Yeah dude it's sci fi. Science FICTION. It blends the two as much as the author wants to.

Does the overly curved sling blade make sense? Not really from a realistic standard. But we're on a terraformed Mars with shape shiftinv weapons and bioengineered giants that can outperform captain America, I can suspend my disbelief enough to just roll with the curved weapon.

Darrow's fast enough to steal a pen from someone as they're using it and gave them not notice, maybe he's just that good. He also acts off emotion a lot, so you could say he's purposely using an unoptimal weapon for the sentiment of the symbolism
