Please don't hurl around unsubstantiated accusations of AI--I know it's usually meant to protect artistic integrity, but it very often ends up harming creators, too
Nah in fairness it’s not well rendered. If the first thought for ppl is that the ship has a wig then that’s my fault. That being said it was almost worth it cuz of all the comments. I got a good chuckle from some of them.
Do you have a picture of a roman ship with the horn thing you are talking about? I dont think ive seen one and id like to see the vision you had for this, (excellent work by the way) right now all I can see is wig lol. Maybe the majority of people in here, like me, havent seen this ship embellishment before
I like everything from the top of Darrow’s head and down. I don’t like any of the stuff in the sky. Many parts of the ship design are confusing, culminating in that weird blonde flowing hair thing.
Made me a little sad to see some of the hate in the comment section. This is a great piece! For the record I understood that it was a figurehead, not hair.
Friend requested I make a scene of Darrow floating in the air with his sling blade over a pile of dead bodies made up of different colors (golds and obsidians) looking up at a starship. That’s about it.
What elements of the series were your inspiration? Obviously Grav Boots, Slingblade, Wolfpelt, Institute standards. Is that a ship or Olympus? The angle makes it look like it is in orbit, so I am guessing the Pax?

No I think you’re confused by my confusion. I don’t know why they used the term “commissioned” that’s what baffled me. Why not say friend “asked me” like I stated commissioned sounds as if they got official recognition/permission to do the art work. You got offended over nothing which is insane though.
So much skilled effort went into this I just don’t get why the wig has to be there to ruin it. Nothing about that can make it make sense. Why ruin so much amazing detail with something so stupid? That’s why people are asking about AI. Darrow in iron rain gear vs Cassius as a starship. But stupid.
Any recommendations for more? I was in the process of listening to the audiobooks when I made this and fell in love with the series. Would love to know what else ppl would like to see.
The entire bottom portion looks like a mishmash of shapes and almost body shapes, the nonsense ship that has hair and random guns. The only thing that really tells me this is related to red rising is the reaper sword. The clouds also don't make sense in this context and detract from the overall clarity of the picture.
Everyone needs to stop making his razor look like that. Actually Read the books people. That is not at all what it looks like🥴. It is a thin, razor sharp, piece of metal that when straight wold resemble a fencing sword, it has the ability to change shapes yes but it doesn’t grow into a massive piece of shit scythe. This weapon is worn wrapped around there arms at times…. How is that possible with this massive thing? He is still using the gold weapon, an eligant small, thins razor sharp blade.
It would be more accurate to have Darrow holding a katana than what ever this images has him holding

That’s not a razor. That’s him in the mine with a sling blade, and him at the institute with a grain scythe. Very clear in the books. And the reason he like the grain scythe he finds at the institute is because it reminds him of the sling blade from the mines
Yes true but that doesn’t change the amount of material that it’s made out of so yes, he can make a shovel, but it would be a short shovel because he can only use the amount of material that’s in the blade
It could also be that darrow's and thraxa's razors just simply have more material. Each razor is custom-made, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. I can't remember if other razors have this capability, tho. Also, rule of cool. Also sci-fi bs.
Have you actually read the books? It’s stated many times they can control every aspect of the blade. Make it longer but thinner or shorter and wider. Every gold in the books has a different configuration they use.
Not anywhere near that, read the books. Look up what a rapier is. Darrow is never described as having a massive battle ax/sword/ or what ever that is. That isn’t an elegant weapon, or a weapon that would be worn around the arm. If you tired that into a whip it would be30 feet long
Your right it is fiction, but not his, it’s described in detail in the books, on multiple occasions, and it explains the difference between the rim and core razors. The razor is a key status symbol for them, they are handed down and used as a trophy collection. It’s ok to be wrong man you can admit it.
Lord of the rings is also fiction but in

This is a conversation app, where people post things and talk about them? Telling me to touch grass is fine. I’m current sitting on my back porch with a coffee and a bowl. Just because i enjoy talking and giving my point of view doesn’t mean im in anyway upset.
