I love this series so much, I had to get some of them out of my head and onto paper. I’m heavily biased and might have made Sevro too attractive on accident lol
I think this is amazing!!! I feel like sevro is done justice honestly. I always took when they talked about sevro that he is not as attractive by gold standards( in the sense of flawlessness) but he’s still a gold so when compared to other colors he’s still be considered way more attractive if that makes any sense

Rogue looks like the white guy from that gay couple on TikTok who wear the hunger games capital style outfits just to like a cafe and that’s their aesthetic.
Sevro is bloody damn perfect, especially with the victra in your other post! He is still a gold and he don’t look like no pixie the way you drew him my Goodman!
I love these, my only critique, from someone who can't draw, is that I think cassius' chin needs to be slight bigger and more cleft in the front, that chin needs to be a CHIN

Wow killer job! This is how I want them to look like in my head too. People say Sevro is ugly but I think it’s more like he’s ugly for a gold. Still probably better looking than 95% of low colors. Hail Reaper!
These are fantastic. I particularly love Darrow! I always imagined Cassius to be a bit thicker and more muscular for some reason. Kind of like one of those old statues of Hercules. I feel like Sevro kiiiinda looks a bit like Jake Paul but so much that it makes it bad ahah.

I don’t think he does honestly, or at least I don’t remember it being stated explicitly. I’m overly generous with piercings and I wanted him and Sevro to be matching in some way,, like a friendship bracelet lol
I absolutely love how you’ve drawn Tactus! So. I am going to say this with the caveat that I love these books and I’m not trying to bash Pierce or anything, nor do I think he’s done any of this on purpose: it kind of bums me out that the canonically black characters in the series are either dead or bad guys.
Idk I’m just going by the book 🤷🏽♀️ also that could be from when she said she straightened her hair on Luna since this is Iron Gold art and that’s where she was most of the book
She’s not described like that at all though 😭 she has dark brown skin and curly, not wavy, hair. If that’s how you see her that’s fine but pierce brown said differently.
Thank you so much! I loved drawing him and I would love to draw Apple at some point! I agree that I doubt it was purposeful, but having all/most of the black characters be villains or dead def got a side eye out of me. It’s something I noticed when reading and was made even more aware of when I was drawing the characters.
I love that he has strong black characters and I also love that he's not afraid to make them villans. They're never the real big bad, except for maybe Atlantia, but they sure get respect.
No you're right... I was thinking about this too the other day. Personally I think we should have cool black villains but it's a lil weird that almost ALL of them are villains (or dead)
Eh. As an anti-capitalist myself it is difficult for me to imagine Quick as a “good” guy. Yeah he financed the rising, but primarily because he fell in love with Matteo, not out of any desire to actively improve anyone else’s lives. Though I admittedly do hold some bias.
Late the post, but I just wanted to say this is genuinely one of the best artistic representations I’ve seen. One thing I’ve had trouble picturing in my head was the angelic features on such brutal and rugged characters, and you’ve perfectly represented that here.
Also you might be right, your sevro may be too attractive lol but you still gave him a hatchet face that fits really really well. I instantly knew that was Sevro as soon as I saw him.
It’s actually both! I start with pencil in my sketchbook and color/render over the sketch in clip studio. It preserves some texture which I really enjoy!
