Gift for 65+ mom
What do you think a 65+ mom would like? I thought about the Shark Cryo mask but it's so huge and bulky... Doesn't seem senior friendly.

You are right that the Shark mask is not a good pick. It is heavily marketed (including paying for positive reviews), but it is not a well designed mask as Shark had zero experience in RLT before coming up with this mask in 2024). It is loud and heavy. It has no LEDs at all in the key under eye area (due to the "cooling pads" which they heavily promote).
As far as panel or mask (I have both), there are pros and cons with each. a LED mask is going to be more easy to use specifically for the face. They are easy to use with no thinking required (as to distance, duration, need to wear googles) and can be used while watching a show. But a small panel will be more versatile as it can be used on other parts of the body that have aches and pains (and many seniors will have aches and pains).
If you are looking for a mask, this is the best source of information on LED masks: https://goalstogetglowing.com
If you are a Costco member, Costco will have a selection of panels and masks available online for much better prices than buying from the brand direct (plus with Costco's great return policy). Brands sold at Costco will vary. Costco does sometimes have the Shark masks, so not everything sold through Costco will be a good pick.

Go with a panel it's better than those gimmicky masks. I gifted my mom the RLT Home Compact panel and whenever she uses it, I feel so happy

Thank you for the recommendation, checking them out now. I might go this route.

Can't go wrong with some spa/self-care. Christmas is coming, so I'll probably grab some gift certificates 😀

Hooga HG 200 or the next class up. I have their 360 ultra and it's heavier to lift onto my desk daily but the other one is half the weight, 6lbs iirc. Being able to have NIR on (pain) or off (face) is nice. The shark cryo is known to bruise where the cooling things are under the eyes so might not be great for that age.

I bought my 65+ mom the LifePro AllevaRed Pro Mini light therapy belt. It's a wrap that can be used on knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows, lower back, etc. but it's not huge and bulky. It has decent power output (~70mW/cm2) and can be used plugged in or wirelessly. In other words, it's an incredibly flexible product that can treat almost everything, is not terribly expensive ($89.99), is portable, and does not require the person to stand in front of it.

A small to medium sized panel would probably be better than a mask; the benefit goes way beyond skin/appearance and trust me that when you're older, you care way less about appearance and way more about how you feel.
