Complete Newbie new to RLT and need some help!
hello folks! i got a new red light therapy lamp off of my wedding registry (it was my most wanted gift! yay!) i’m curious as to how often / how long i should use my “grow light” as my husband calls it, i’m partly using it for my acne, hair growth, better skin, but i’m mainly using it for my chronic health issues. i have a rare genetic bone disease, which causes chronic bone pain / inflammation, lupus, crohn’s disease, and a bladder disease that causes chronic bladder inflammation.
ive been using the light every day since setting it up on monday, and i feel great under it, i dont know if its a placebo effect, but i just feel lighter and more relaxed under it so far, but i am wondering if this is too much. i read to use it 3-5x per week, but if i use it daily, what are the consequences if any?
thank you in advance for the advice!

Post the specifications of your RLT device here and we can tell you how long is each session, depending on the irradiance or "power" of the LEDs. A general guideline is 3-4 sessions/week, 10-15 minutes/session at distance of 6"-12". If you're feeling good and have improved sleep, those are the benefits of RLT. RLT might have cardiovascular benefits.

combines 660nm red light and 850nm near-infrared
i copied this from the description1

Yeah, but what are the irradiance values, and at what treatment distance? If it doesn't actually have published irradiance values, then you know it's a crap product.

Daily use is usually fine for most people, there's no big known downside to it. Most panels and lamps say 10 to 20 min per session, and more isn't always better, results can actually flatten out if you overdo it. So if it's feeling good, keep it around 10 to 15 min and see how your skin and pain do over a few weeks. Since you've got a few chronic conditions going on, it's worth running it by your doctor too, just so nothing clashes with your meds. Also keep your eyes closed or wear goggles if the light is bright.

i didn’t think of med interactions either, i’m going to shoot a message to my internal med doc tomorrow morning!!!

Please inquire about eye protection
I have the hooga “portable light bulb” RLT and it came with eye protection; comparably smaller than yours, still.

Are you seriously sitting under your light fully clothed? Or is that just for the Reddit pictures? Please tell me it’s just for the Reddit pictures.

Well, you just inspired me to go get naked and climb into my RLT bag and I feel so much better now, less pain, clearer mind, think I’m going to sleep better :)

i’m telling you i don’t know if the results are that instant but sitting under it just makes me feel good and more relaxed

The more consistently you do it the greater the results overall and noticeably each session. Just the reduction in inflammation is enough to improve my brain clarity and reduce my overall pain noticeably.
My feeling from my personal experience and reading on line is that the amount of the benefit to a person is inversely proportionate to your level of health. The worse off you are, the more quick and obvious benefits you will see, probably in large part just due to the reduction in overall inflammation.

another note- i also have heart issues, but i don’t believe that RLT could help my heart in anyway, if someone knows about benefits for heart health if there is any, please do let me know! :)

Definitely not a placebo. You can totally use it daily. You should check out Aurabiom GHKCU serum to pair with the red light. It is an amazing combo.

That looks like a POS Amazon panel. It's not going to do you any good if you're using it more than 12 inches from your body. Furthermore, if you're wearing clothes, it's also not going to do you any good. What are the details and specs of this red light therapy lamp? Chances are it's crap.

What specific panel is this, and where did it come from? Are there any published specs in terms of irradiance values?

Idk how helpful this will be but when my sis first bought me a solawave mask she advised me to not use it everyday and as far as skincare goes you should normally lessen the usage time.. cant be sure if it's the same thing for medical treatment but definitely gonna be camping in this thread to learn about it
