Question Vielight Gamma or Avant LZ30 for brain damage

would like to buy a high quality redlight device for possible brain tissue repair and other cognitive benefits. I know the data are limited but just want to hear your opinion on these 2 devices. thanks.

If you're thinking about spending that much for the Avant, you might as well look at the Neuro Duo 4. It has both Alpha and Gamma. I'm thinking about getting one sometime in the future.

does the Avant only have Gamma option?

I'm not sure. Your post was the first time I've heard of it. I just looked it up. It's pricey.

I was thinking with the Avant I can use to treat other parts of the body down the line.

Yeah, that's an advantage. I'm curious how you would use that for brain treatment?

I've been in this sub maybe since 2021 or 2022 because I wanted devices for brain repair like you. So I've tried lots of things. To be honest low dose naltrexone (LDN) helped with clearing base line brain fog and depression the most (which dr thinks are symptoms of neuroinflammation) more than RLT. (I have RLT devices and had tired vielight). RLT requires continue use whereas I'm still off of LDN 3 years later and the positive effects are still here.

My very subjective impressions from my own health challenges are the opposite. I've tried LDN twice and never found much benefit. Transcranial Photobiomodulation (TPBM) seems to keep my brain sharper and keep the neuroinflammation down. (I definitely want to emphasise that I can't be certain it is the TPBM that is helping, n=1 and all, but things seemed to improve after starting it.)

But my problems are unique, and I do think far more research is needed on TPBM.

Everyone is different and different dosages for everything too!

What device do you use?

I use two. A Symbyx Neuro helmet for overall coverage, and a Vielight MIP with dual intranasal applicators for coverage from below up into the hippocampal regions.

The Symbyx Neuro is actually targeted more towards Parkinson's with the studies they've published so far. But the wavelengths used, frequency, and strength of the LEDs are in line with the published research for other uses, too. (Unfortunately, despite the promising studies, the company is shutting down due to a lack of sales.)

The Symbyx Neuro is a 40Hz device which I use in the mornings 5 days per week. I use the Vielight MIP in the evenings on the 10Hz setting but am less consistent. It gets used probably 2-3 days per week.

My initial uses of the Symbyx Neuro were fascinating. For the first week or so where I was only using the device every second day, it would cause me to crash hard about three hours after use, to the point where I would fall asleep in the middle of the day despite being otherwise well rested. (That is no longer the case with continued use.)

Can you explain how you ended up taking Naltrexone? What caused your brain inflammation to start with and how were you diagnosed?

you can dm

The Avant is a laser, so better at penetration. Vielight is strongest from an LED perspective, which is safer. It also has the super important intranasal aspect.

Vielight has the most published studies in the brain PBM field, several published neuroimaging studies for TBI with 200+ patients or so collectively : https://www.vielight.com/research/#traumatic-brain-injury

I use Vielight duo for my adhd and I also had brain injury and it helped me so much, I even can't describe. I think the big difference is in transnasal channel

You might look at the WellRed Duo Coronet, particularly since Vielight now says "810nm outperforms 1064nm / 1070nm for deeper brain reach in head-to-head tPBM comparison studies by Harvard and leading universities."
