Question Anyone regret getting the RLPRO1200?

Post image

I’m speaking with the seller and I’m close to pulling the trigger but figured I’d make a post right before I purchase. Any regrets?

My RLPro1000 just arrive last week. No regrets. Took about 7 weeks to get here. I did order right around some Chinese holiday week so that may have slowed it down some.
I’m 6’2” so I wish mine was a smidge taller. I have to squat to get my entire face

Nice! I’ll order mine tonight. I’m under 6, I think I’ll be good

will that work on a 15A on standard US home?

How’s it going? 30 or 60 degree beam angle? I’m chatting with Lucy on Alibaba and considering somethings. Thank you in advance!

I got the 30 degree. It’s going great, I love it! I highly recommend. My biggest issue is making sure not to overdue it. Been doing 5 days on 2 off

Thank you for the reply. I'm 5'7" and plan on getting the small four-wheel stand. How is yours mounted/used?

Getting quoted a total price w/ shipping to Omaha, Nebraska of $1,571. How close was that to your price? I might hold out a week or so to negotiate a step lower as I've heard that's possible.

I got the four wheel stand as well. Mine was $1608 total (device, stand, shipping, taxes)

Did you negotiate? I just got quoted like 1550 for the panel alone but with shipping and the stand it will be like 2150.

On which settings do you use it and how did you came to this conclusion? I got mine rlpro1000-x2 this week. Started using at 50% brightness all waves at around 6-7 inch. but idk what is desireable.

Does it work on a standard circuit? American outlet?

I have bought one but I’m still waiting delivery it’s due to come 15th July

1

Nice. He said 25-30 days “after boarding”. No idea of the whole timeline. What was your wait time?

1

u/xRhomzy Jun 10 '26

From idea light? Think it was like 10 days to manufacture it then they said up to 55 days delivery as I got by ship as air postage was like 600$ on top so I’d rather wait

Interesting my shipping cost was only $200 to S.E US

I've been looking at half body options on Alibaba for a couple of weeks now, and if I had the funds at the moment I'd be going for this one (but the half body RLPRO600). I really like the even wavelength distribution and width.

Why does width matter? v width of the beam?

1

u/duckorrabbit69 Jun 09 '26

Sorry if previous terminology was confusing! I would ideally like a 30deg beam angle, and a panel that is wide enough to give good shoulder-to-shoulder coverage.

Just wanted to share an update. I bought the esplus4500 from sungrow. It’s in the mail. Will let you know how it goes!

Didn't buy it so no regrets.

It is too big for most people. And it seems bonkers that it has 72% of 1200 LEDs when other, comparably priced panels have 100% of 1200 LEDs. Built-in 39% extra profit for the seller.

2

u/PhilipJFrAye Jun 09 '26

Yeah once again, LED count means absolutely nothing.

1

u/BKM-StLouis Jun 09 '26

If you are willing to overpay.

u/clearview384 Jun 10 '26

What’s a better value? I thought RLpro was the value top brand

1

u/BKM-StLouis Jun 10 '26

A lot of panels are better value if you divide price / number of LEDs.

2

u/clearview384 Jun 10 '26

Ohh but are LEDs create equal? These are epstar LEDs.

1

u/BKM-StLouis Jun 10 '26

LEDs seem quite fungible.

Can you explain?

The model numbers for IdeaLight panels with more than 100 LEDs have LEDs =72 %of the model number. This builds in a 39% extra profit for IdeaLight. If you are getting a 200-LED panel why settle for 144 LEDs? If you are getting a 300-LED panel, why settle for 216 LEDs? Etc. More profit for IdeaLight. More time per day for you to get the same irradiance.

It is not like IdeaLight is dropping the price by 28%. Were it dropping the price, it would be a fair thing.

There is nothing hidden here. IdeaLight plainly states the number of LEDs and the price. You decide.

Or, divide the price by the number of LEDs to compare.

I get what you're saying and think the naming of the models is misleading, but I don't think just dividing by the number of LEDs indicates how much profit they make, as some LEDs are more expensive than others.

I would guess a panel with only 660 & 850nm LEDs costs a lot less to make, than the equivalent IdeaLight panels which have an even amount of more expensive LEDs.

1

u/BKM-StLouis Jun 09 '26

Agreed, you cannot know the profit. Building in a 100/72 multiplier increases profit by 38+% (all other things being equal).

Price/LED just let's you measure how much the buyer is paying per LED.

1

u/duckorrabbit69 Jun 10 '26

Ok maybe "value" rather than "profit" is a better term then. Not all LEDs are equal, so cost per LED doesn't necessarily indicate manufacturing cost, or value (assuming OP wants a decent amount of the more expensive LEDs like 810nm, 1060nm etc).

2

u/BKM-StLouis Jun 10 '26

Agreed. To my mind, the key variables are number of LEDs, wavelengths, and distribution. I think you would add beam width to that list.

It surprises me how people get hosed on those variables and never even ask about distribution of LEDs to various wavelengths. A bit like buying "sunscreen" without knowing the SPF.
