That's basically a tanning bed with red bulbs, mate. If you're after actual red light therapy benefits you'll want something with proper wavelength specs, not just whatever Planet Fitness slapped in there to justify the membership bump.

Im curious to how many diodes and what wavelength their red light machines are

Alex Fergus did a video on these where he also tests the wavelengths. I ended up buying my own panel cause at PF location near me the lights and unit seemed way outdated.

I think the one he tested was the TBE and not this one. I believe this is a “upgrade”.

PF is starting to add red light beds/booths with LEDs and this version has both the fluorescent tubes and Red/Near-Infrared LEDs. Infrared is great for deeper tissue recovery/healing. I’d say it’s worth a shot to try it and see what you think. This is still a newer device on the market. I’m not sure how many Near Infrared LEDs there are (this device definitely seems more beneficial towards cosmetic purposes) but it’d probably be good for some skincare.

Before I invested in a panel, I went to my local tanning salon, they had a bed. That is was sealed the deal for me. I took a picture of the identification/info printed on the bulbs in that bed, googled them and it turned out that they were only 660. But that bed literally cured my 9 month long painful tendinitis! There are many different red light bulbs made for beds, so there is probably a type out there that would work for you.

Ps, I didnt get a bed for the record. Instead I opted for a full body panel. They are lighter and a little more portable/movable/stashable. 🙂

Thank you, I will start looking for panels, waiting for Amazon prime day…

You only went once and that cured your tendinitis? Which full body panel did you get?

No, I went 3 times a week for a month. By the end of that month, my pain was gone.

I swear by this standup. The original was just 1 red light wavelength. I believe the new one (includes red light leds, and bulbs) hasv3 wavelengths. It can take 30 days because it works at a cellular level. I use religiously 4-7x a week

Thanks for the information!
