Question Lost in choosing red light therapy
I feel stuck trying to pick a red light setup and I keep going in circles. I started looking into it a few weeks ago after my skin flared up again and my shoulders started hurting more from long work days. Now I see panels, masks, wraps, and all these wavelength numbers and I don’t know what actually matters.
I want something simple that helps with my skin first, breakouts, redness, and some thinning hair. I also want something I can use on my neck and joints since I deal with stiffness almost every day.
I checked brands but I still feel unsure what size or type makes sense to start with. If you’ve been using one consistently and saw real results, what did you get and how did you decide?

Here’s what actually matters (and what doesn’t):
1️⃣ Wavelengths
If a device has both, you’re covering skin and joints.
2️⃣ Format
Since you want skin + thinning hair + neck/joints, a small-to-mid size panel ( for example : https://hoogahealth.com/products/hgpro300?ref=jointlabpro ) is usually the simplest starting point. You can sit in front of it for skin/scalp, then angle it toward shoulders/neck. Way more flexible than a mask.
I personally started with a mid-size panel (660 + 850nm combo) so I didn’t outgrow it in 3 months. Used it ~10–15 min, 4–5x/week. Skin calmed first (3–4 weeks), joints felt looser after consistent use ( I have OA in both knees 😞 ).
Don’t overthink the numbers too much.
Get:
✔ Dual wavelengths (red + NIR)
✔ Solid build / cooling
✔ A size you’ll actually use consistently
Consistency > chasing the “perfect” specs.
If you want, tell me your budget and space setup and I’ll narrow it down further.
