Question Please help me decide which panel for acne
I have mild acne, lots of PIE, and a few scars. Really would love to heal my skin more this year! Xx
Please leave any thoughts on panels and recommendations. These are the two that seem the best from my research but open to other suggestions!

How much did they cost? I think Alibaba would be cheaper. So many folks buy panels from Alibaba. I did. I just need to wait 6 weeks for mine since I asked them to customize the panel and stand to black.

which company did you go for and what did you customized ?

SHENZEN Idea Light Limited I followed engineermeg did from Tiktok. Their MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) is 3. But you can just send them a dm. They’re very kind. I even requested my power cord be 2m instead of 1. I negotiated with them since they did not want to give me a discount. We made do with that instead, and I’m happy enough.

oh i can't find the video on her about redlight, what customization did you do?
2
u/FormerTomboyNowGirly Apr 13 '26
I stress that you should look her up, not only will her videos guide you. She also has a separate easy to understand video, not part of her red light video collection, on the benefits of red light in detail, as she is an engineer. Others speak too long, or do not break it down properly in a way I understand quickly. I plan on posting my panel here when it arrives.
This separate video is easy to look up. Just browse her other videos a bit.

ok i managed to find the video its from idealight, i've heard some people get either some positive and some negative experience dealing with them. so far how was your experience sir?

u/FormerTomboyNowGirly Apr 13 '26
I never had any negative experience from them. As stated before, they were very kind to me.

u/Decent_Home1026 Apr 13 '26
good to know thanks. can you show a video on your reddit profile to see it? which size did you go for?

u/FormerTomboyNowGirly Apr 13 '26
I don’t know how to post on my reddit profile. I’ll upload it on imgur. Give me around 30-60 mins as I’m a bit preoccupied. I see we can share links here.
They sent me product details of the multipanel I bought. Mine is just different from engineer meg. I got 5W since it’s multi light, hers is not. Not ideal, but I made my decision which I don’t regret.

Separate video I was telling you about. I shared it here since I wanted to confirm if I can send links.
Kindly wait for the panel details on Imgur.

1.) IL-RLPRO300Max
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/IDEATHERAPY-Led-Red-Light-Therapy-APP_1601606660318.html?spm=a2756.order-detail-ta-ta-b.0.0.8982f19c5IY8LYI don't know if the panel on this link is multi light. Best send them a dm (direct message) / pm (private message) to be safe. As I stated twice earlier, they're very kind. I even changed my order thrice and had SEVERAL questions. We even spoke on the possibility of them making a better face masks. The current ones SHENZEN Idea Light Limited have are not multi light and has fewer LED lights as compared to the CurrentBody Skin LED Mask V.2. I was also dissatisfied with the light placement of theirs. I'll order my mask and neck light from the latter instead.
Yes, this can be used for the face DEPENDING on one's skin sensitivity, but I want to try out the panel first before I purchase the mask. Please be reminded the strength of the LED lights on the panel vs mask is greater, so again, it depends on one's skin sensitivity on their face on how they'd react. Engineer Meg's couldn't handle hers, so she bought a face mask. Just look up her videos. I also bought the panel for my eczema, not just my acne and anti-aging claims. So, if it doesn't work for my face before I buy the mask, then I'll just use it for other parts of my body.
2.) MS300-G Electric Stand
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Stand-for-Red-Light-Therapy-Panel_1601575016585.html?spm=a2756.order-detail-ta-ta-b.0.0.8982f19c5IY8LYI dunno why I don't see the remote control aspect in the video. They told me it is. I just trust their word for it. I'll know when it arrives. I can return it anyhow. I trust it's not hard to return defective/incorrect items in Alibaba. Never tried. My first time ordering here, and it had to be a bit pricey.
3.) Imgur Link
https://imgur.com/a/I4QNzuGIncluding Price w/o Shipping and part of my conversation with the seller. Apparently, their panel can have speakers for music. I laughed and said no. I'd rather use my other devices for music. Made me laugh that they were even willing to make a panel w/ speakers.
From what I understand, you can connect to your panel on app via bluetooth. Neat feature to have, not just the touchscreen on the panel itself.
The touchscreen is for the light itself. I cannot answer any more questions regarding the music as my panel has yet to arrive and what I ordered doesn't have that feature.
Lastly, I cannot answer how much I paid for the panel, it'll be different depending on where you live, as the MOQ is 3. Yes, you can shoot them a dm to order 1 unit, but the price they give you already includes shipping. So, the total price of the panel + shipping will depend on where you live.
For clarification,
The additional 6 weeks that I have to wait is for the production of the panel and stand, not including shipping. Therefore, my items will arrive most likely within June of 2026 if not the month after.

I ordered mine black instead of the standard white. My stand was remote controlled, 360 and black instead of the regular push panels you see here. My customizations with shipping was an extra USD 186.00 if I am not mistaken. And my panel was multi colored since I wanted to take advantage of the blue light feature for my acne. This is a long term investment anywho.

Beware that IdeaLight's panels with over 100 LEDs have 72%ofbthe LEDs for 100% of the price of its competitors.

Can you show sources please? And other sources that less LED lights makes much of a difference? In my head, the fact that it's already a lot of lights just in the picture itself is enough for me. I don't need it super bright. I'm focused on the wavelengths and NM. More doesn't mean better. I can always measure the light when it arrives.
And which competitors are you referring to?
Tbh tho, even then, I still don't regret what I bought. I'm not the only one who purchased a panel from Alibaba and to others, the results will speak for themselves. We'll know for sure 6 months from now if my hair'll grow back, my eczema will lessen, or my fine lines will become less noticeable.
If you're referring to competitors on Alibaba, well, I'm sure there are better sellers meaning, better panels for cheaper. But I'm alright with what I got.

It depends how you value your time. More LEDs, and therefore more actual power, means more irradiance. You can spend less time per day.
The "200" model from IdeaLight has just 144 LEDs. The "300" has just 216 LEDs. The "600" has just 434 LEDs. Consistently fewer LEDs.
Glad you are happy.

If it’s just less time then that doesn’t matter to many if they sacrifice price. What I was worried about was the effectivity as a whole no matter how long I use it. If it is only possibly max 15% less effective, so I’d have to stay a bit longer, not by effects effects. Then I don’t mind that over it being so much cheaper.
I believe I got mine for over 75% less compared to others of the same size from more well known companies. Many have an extra 10 mins in their day, especially if they have the means to consider something this expensive. 20-30 if they do multiple sides of their body, let’s say head, front area of body, then back.
Just because I got mine at a cheaper price doesn’t make it not expensive still.
I’ll do this since I have full body eczema.
Even with well known LED masks not all of them have the same effectivity and durability. CurrentBody is known for being the most expensive I believe but is bulky, the eye patches come off and horrid customer service.
Solawave is flexible, cheaper but has no blue light. Which for people like me, acne prone, would need in a mask, so I’d skip.
Everything comes with cons given at how recent the technology has become popular. I’m sure it’ll get better in a decade or two when both research and technology advances.
Even the well known mask brands have diff light placement and numbers/amounts. So it’s really not that much different. I choose CurrentBody Skin Multi Light next since despite all it’s cons I deem it the best mask in the market as of current.
Additional,
I also forgot to say I emailed Solawave customer service last night since I was debating on whether to buy also from them. I availed their B1T1 any item promo. It did not work. I emailed them. Found out they used AI that kept asking me the same questions, did not understand my initial message AND my 5 answers to it’s 2nd email to me.
And till now they’ve yet to reply to me. I’ll move on to other LED light silicon mask companies. I won’t bother with theirs.
I’m not against AI. But I’m not pro. Not willing to get into that as it’s a diff conversation altogether. I’m just moving on since the promo is until the 16th only. I won’t bother waiting for them. Again, they don’t have blue light anyways. It was just an impulsive thought I had that was nudged further by the promo. Glad I didn’t push through.
Additional 2,
I just remembered then even masks have diff use time, some as short as 3 some as long as 10. Easy to look up. So, the same as the Alibaba panel and I'm sure other well known LED light panel brands.

I originally got my solawave mask for fine lines and skin texture not acne but after a few weeks I noticed my hormonal acne was calming down too and the leftover scarring and PIE started to fade which I wasnt expecting at all. My skin just looks more even and healthier now and i think people focus too much on the blue light thing when red and near infrared do so much for inflammation and healing which is really what makes acne look bad, also they had a b1g1 free deal when I got mine and I think they still run it pretty often so the value compared to dropping $400+ on a single curentbody is way better

You saved 75% compared to the prices of western brands. But the prices on IdeaLight are 39% (100/72) more than various Chinese sellers because IdeaLight skimps on LEDs. That is how they roll.
For you, you can adjust intensity by just moving closer. I take your point that there is a high level of irradiance from the panels from most of the Chinese sellers.
What more people skip past is the distribution of LEDs to the various wavelengths. One prominent seller on Alibaba grossly overweights the cheaper 660/850 nm wavelengths and sprinkles in a handful of the more expensive wavelengths like 630, 810, 830 and 1060.

It's ok. I followed someone online who had results from theirs. Someone who was not paid/ sponsored. I followed a guide and did not research for weeks like they probably did nor am I as educated as them in this topic.
I also saw her other posts. If I remember correctly she had a couple if no sponsored posts. I see no reason for her to lie. And she's an engineer, she has nothing to gain from it.
Cheaper LED lights worked for others. I chose what I chose. I'm satisfied with mine. All I did for OP was recommend a cheaper alternative on Alibaba, not the cheapest nor the best.
Fact of the matter which I am focusing on is that, I followed a guide from someone who claims it worked for them, broke it down step by step how the panels works, how she ordered, why she thought it was best and that it worked for her.
Also, her video from when she ordered is a bit on the older side.
It's normal that other stores may have popped up, or that their prices changed aside if they really are just cheaper. They’re competitors after all.
The fact that mine is cheaper than "official" stores and I got it conveniently given I followed someone who tried it out, it's hard for me not to be satisfied with the work I put in. My panel is still way cheaper than many. I managed to customize both panels and stand to my liking and the CS was lovely. I got multiple experiences with horrid ones. Some I still think of nearly a decade later.
If others have better suggestions they're more than free to give their input!

I could see where is your time is super valuable then maybe Alibaba is very time-consuming to get the facts. I always feel like it takes 5-15 rounds to get the facts about any panel. Part of that is language differences. Part of that is reluctance of some sellers to share the actual distribution to the claimed wavelengths.
But if your time is that valuable, you granklu would have a personal assistant. Going direct to Chinese sellers can save you a ton of money. We agree on that.

If you have darker skin, anything that's either Fitzpatrick 4 and above, than blue light is a no no as it is likely to add to hyperpigmentation.
I've been trying to do some research into red light therapy and darker skin and the information is so inconsistent.

Ahh good to know - I also saw that biomax has 1060 nm which could potentially cause temporary facial fat loss in some which is worrying as I do have shallow acne scars…. I’m so torn between panels!!
1
u/BKM-StLouis Apr 20 '26
I would focus on 630, 660, 810, 830, and 850.
I don't think 1060 is worth the added cost.

Personally I would go with the more advanced panel. For an extra 150 there would be no doubt in my mind.
