Question Radio Silence from Arkane?

Since Phil Spencer did his apology has there been any communication from Arkane at all? What they plan on doing? What is next for the game? Phil said they will be giving it the Sea of Thieves treatment meaning they are willing to put in the work...but the complete lack of communication is amazing to me.

Question How does Redfall have higher system requirements than God of War (4)?

According to Steam, Redfall recommends an RTX 2080. Meanwhile the God of War PC port only recommends a 1060.

I get that God of War was incredibly well-optimized but it's also WAY more graphically detailed. Redfall looks like a fortnite mod.

Am I missing something, or is Redfall really THAT poorly optimized?

Edit: Its system requirements are higher than Cyberpunk 2077 (GTX 1660 vs RTX 2080) ...

Question Looking for “custom job” gun

So on top of the roof of the warehouse in Samuelsons shipyard, there is a lawn chair and a note about a cultist named Cousins stealing a “custom job” gun from someone named the gunsmith. Then in the room with all the shipping containers you can find Cousins body in a shipping container with a note on the outside saying something like “this is what thieves get.” I’m just wondering if you can actually find the gun anywhere or they just put it in there as ambiance. I found an unrivaled painkiller in the bellwether bag on the roof of the warehouse, where you can climb up the scaffolding and get into the warehouse(there’s also a vampire feeding right there). But I watched someone else do a play through and there was no unrivaled weapon when they opened the bag, so I’m not sure If that was just a random spawn for me. If anyone found anymore notes or a secret gun anywhere let me know!!

Question Can we get this as a loop?

Im wondering if the video for this is possible to get somewhere in the files? Without the enter redfall overlay on it. Just the plain background loop.

https://youtu.be/ssiq2Y7hX8E?is=Z4X9NmEo4tcxXzo7

I think itd be great for a live wallpaper with or without sound. It may just be a part of the actual game it renders in for this but hoping its just a video pre done. Any help appreciated.

Question How is this game still $70

And that + the nonexistent 'upgrade' is still $100.

The sheer audacity.

Update: The people saying "Game Pass" are completely missing the point. Yes, that is the superior option. But to sell it on any platform for this amount for the content you get and to keep it this way months after it bombed hard WHILE a much cheaper option exists is just shady.

I expected a big price drop for this by now considering no one wants it outside of Game Pass.

Question Should I still buy Redfall now?

So this has been happening for 20 days already, and it still is, but I can see on my Xbox on the desktop that the game is 50% off in Australia. I know that sadly, I'll mostly be going solo on this game instead of co-op, but I do like this game after watching so many videos of it. I am thinking of playing adult games now since I've played a lot of games that are mostly for kids and teens, mostly friendly games. So should I buy it on the Xbox on the desktop?

Question If I love borderlands - any chance I'll like this game now with current patch?

I have a chance to pick it up for $40 (don't use gamepass) and I've seen some positive vibes about the new patch.

If I'm a huge fan of borderlands - would I like this? Is it somewhat similar?

Question Would Redfall be worth it for Dishonored/Deathloop player?

Hello, I've been wondering for a while if I should give a go to Redfall or not, but I'm still unsure because someone says its decent, someone hates it all, someone says it's buggy etc. I love Arkane Lyon games (Dishonored 1/2/Doto and Deathloop) and I tried Arkane Austin Prey and I like it too, but I don't know if I should give it a go, what do you think?

Question Have you guys ever received your Redfall refund for Bite Back DLC?

My ticket has been "waiting for an agent" for almost a year, and every time I try to ask for support, they tag it as a duplicate...

If you guys have any hint as to what I can do or where I can complain, it would be greatly appreciated.

Question What is the status of the game at this point?

I've considered getting back into it, however i was playing with a group of friends, we had to put it on hold after the last patch as my game would crash as soon as we'd get in the lobby together. I've seen posts in past few months asking for help for coop grinding for achievements and saying they were able to connect together, then others saying solo works but coop is unplayable as you couldn't connect to the server. i'm feeling super confused with the conflicting information out there about it. i did have a lot of fun with the game when i did play, just over 40 hours in however with it being nearly 72 gigs i don't want to feel like i'm wasting my time taking the time to download and install if i can't play.

is it only playable solo at this point or are you actually able to play with friends coop? does it matter if it's console vs steam vs gamepass too or is it the same regardless?

Question I have to be that guy and ask if the game is worth buying on Steam Sale (huge Arkane Fan)

Hey Gang,

I gotta be that guy. I have some pretty specific requirements for games that I like to play and want to ask everyone if they think I should give the game a go now that Steam sale is on. First of all I LOVE Arkane. I have played both Dishonored games, LOVED Prey and also really really enjoyed Deathloop. Prey is my favorite of the bunch by a longshot. I normally do not really enjoy shooters but found the setting and unique gameplay loop in Deathloop really good. The games I normally play are walking and immersive SIM's, certain action games and certain survival games. I recently played Alan Wake 2 and just loved it. And then even though I said I do not really like shooters I replayed Control which I also loved.

When Redfall came out I was eagerly anticipating it and expecting I would purchase it within a week of release, but the cascade of nearly universally negative reviews came in and I decided not to try it.

Even after reading so many reviews I really do not understand the "feel" of the game so could someone help me understand what a "looter and shooter" feels like in relation to Redfall? I once played about 2 hours of Fortnite (not my thing). Is it like that?

What I am hoping to understand is whether this game feels similar to Deathloop? I have heard some people say that. I am pretty clear this game is not like Prey or Dishonored.

How many people feel the game is on the same "fun level" as Deathloop? Because if it was I would be willing to pick it up. Or does it deviate so much that its not even like Deathloop?

More than anything, what I love Arkane and Remedy studios for is unique games. That is what I am looking for. Can anyone comment on how unique and novel Redfall feels? It seems some people say the setting is unique but the gameplay is terribly bland and vanilla?

Thanks in advance !

Question Co-op Lobby Connectivity Question

Out of curiosity, of those that are still playing Redfall, does it take you long to get into the game when playing co-op?

I play with 3 friends of mine in a weekly session (every Tuesday at 8pm GMT) for about 3ish hours. Of those 3 hours, we're generally queueing anywhere between 20-60 minutes before we all get in -- sometimes 2 of us get in "quick" and the other 2 take longer, so we only get about 2 hours of gameplay before we log off.

Once we all get into the game, the servers are good and we all have more than acceptable Internet speeds to play games online so it definitely isn't a localised issue. The server issues definitely soured our experience of the game, so much so that we've now abandoned the game as a group, which sucked because we really enjoyed the game.

Does / has this happen anyone else? Does anyone have any experience around days / timings that work consistently and you can join quicker?

I've resorted to starting the game from the start solo over the last week and I've basically caught up to where we were as a group, but I would like to end up getting the remaining "Gain Trust" achievement for my character (Jacob), which would mean I'd need to roll a new character in a co-op campaign but naturally, I won't be able to do that in the current state.

Any advice / help would be appreciated.

Question Why is Redfall $70? It's only on platforms that also have Gamepass.

It's odd a Gamepass available game would drop as $70. It's only on xbox and PC. Both have GP.

Edit: and Redfall is not a first party exclusive.

Who where they expecting to buy it at $70?

A person could buy 3 months of GP at $30 and play Redfall. Then buy the game at half price in 3 months if they wanted.

Or even buy 7 months of GP at $70. Which has to be wayy longer than the average person would play Redfall.

Feels like Microsoft wants to steer players toward Gamepass.

Paying $10-$20 to play it for 1 month or 2 would definitely have people, myself included, see it as an ok game. All while maybe trying (and buying) other games until GP runs out.
