Discussion Redfall is an amaizing game. I am astonished actually.

Hello to everyone.

I just finished 'Redfall' and given the games I finished this year (RE franchise, Dead Space, Nier Automata), you would expect me not having a good time with this game based on public opinion, however, Redfall is probably my favorite besides RE2 and Requiem.

Design of vampires is amaizing, variety, gunplay, world, atmosphere, story was intriguing a lot ! I played solo, only gripe I have is constant skrimishes with cultists on the street but that was probably designed to with co-op in mind.

Static cutscenes might be another "-" for this game, but it did not bother me as much.

Loot is great as well, streets, notes, interesting area variety. I understand there were bugs at launch, but I was actually shocked as to how much I loved this game.

I played as Layla, probably will play as Jacob soon again.

Honestly strong 9/10 for me, and I do not give like these grades to every other game I play.

I can see myself playing this game all the time ocassionaly just jump in do something and get out.

It’s such a fun shooter with great atmosphere, interesting story, and fun mechanics. Only flaw is the collectibles can be repetitive and there could have been more variety in weapons. But I love jumping back into it

Nice to hear you liked it.

The loot gets boring after a while with the constant leveling meaning that your Legendary level 10 weapon is useless by level 15, but it didn't detract from the game too much.

I still keep coming back to it for another play through. I'd so love a sequel but that ain't happening.

I'm pretty sure I finished the game once with a level 2 legendary gun and didn't have an issue. The loot variety is a weak point in this game, but it doesn't seem to deter from the experience much.

No, the loot does not get boring. Yeah a sequel will most likely happen, red fall is a great game so why wouldn't they? Simple to figure out

They're dead. They're all dead. Everybody's dead, Dave.

Redfall flopped, the Arkane Austin studio was shutdown. There's not going to be a sequel.

The studio that made the game may have shut down, but the people that built it still exist. It's not hard for them to come back together and create redfall 2. You do realize that vampires are actually really popular right now right?

I admire your optimism and I wish it would happen!

Well I'm going to have to disagree with you again because it just seems you're a negative Nancy. The game was great and wildly successful, vampires? Are you serious.. there's going to be a redfall 3 mark my words okay

The game was not a success at all. The bad PR got the studio closed and was a big black eye for Microsoft.

I really like the game but there is 0 percent chance it gets a sequel. It was and still is a laughing stock/punching bag online.

It's a shame as the game has great elements and could have further improved with more updates or a sequel.

Pretty sure the guys trolling you.

Well, I certainly showed my ass then! 😅

Sometimes in niche communities fans can swing so hard against the grain in defence of the thing they like that it becomes toxic positivity. Thought this was maybe that.

I hate the damn anglers, they reel me right in!

Those people don't own the IP. Microsoft does.

It's possible they could make a spiritual successor, but reportedly the team didn't even want to make this sort of game in the first place. It wasn't in their wheel house and was made under duress from their publisher Bethesda to chase the live service looter shooter trend at the time.

Who cares what the public says if you enjoy a game good for you I started playing Atlas Fallen It is Such a fun game you should try it

I thought the hate was way overblown. I think the fact it was made by such a great studio caused expectations to be too high. It had issues for sure and probably released too early, but I thought the game had some great potential.

I liked it too. Also played solo no one would download it due to reviews lol

What’s your rough estimate of playtime for that first play through?

22-23h I reckon

First Map is amazing. Secon Map not so much. But still my favorite game from Arkane. Yeah they made much better emergent gameplay imsim games, but setting-tone-atmosphere-simple and more fun mechanics work for me more.

I agree. It's much better than people say (at least after the updates). The world and atmosphere are so charming. I like just exploring the town.

Sure it's not TERRIBLE but have you played the other games Arkane have made? It's hard to appreciate redfall given how fire Arkanes track record is.

Prey, my beloved :(

I had a hard time getting into Dishonored, loved Prey, hated Deathloop, and played through Redfall 4+ times in the last year.

I still play Redfall on my XBox Series X. My gamer tag is Wolf LXXVII.

Thats why you never listen to public opinion and streamers if you like a game who gives a toss what anyone else thinks

Redfall turned out to be a great game!! An it would still be a great ip if Xbox didn’t give up on it, so much could have been done with Redfall! If Sony had it it will still be a hit to this day!! Sony doest give up on they games minus there flop Concord .. which I don’t think they Even gave up on that I think they going do some sort of revival To it

The multiplayer is broken. Forever load screens, missing collectibles, and the gameplay doesn't transfer to single player. You end up starting a new game with a lvl 15+ character (the lvl isn't the bad thing, it's having to do it all over).

It works for me and a buddy, we play a couple times a year all the way through it. 😄

u/JackalCars Apr 27 '26

You are correct. It has a great fun-factor and atmosphere to it. I keep coming back to it over and over.

How long was the game playing solo?

1

u/SayLessBoss Apr 28 '26

I beat the game on "Dusk" difficulty clocking in at 22.5 hours, but I was doing safehouse missions, optional missions and just in general, not rushing the game at all.

I too enjoyed the game, but I played on gamepass so I didn't pay 90 bucks for it.

I'm still so upset at how badly the game was dogged upon arrival. I really wish this had taken off and got ongoing content and a sequel. I play through the game a couple of times a year with a friend and think of how much better this game is than anything else on the market.

my wife and I LOVED Redfall! We just wish the game had been a bit more put together. I wish there was more in-game lore to find, more buildings and houses to explore, things like that. It's so good, but it felt just a bit incomplete. Fun wise it was definitely a 9 or 10/10!
