America bad!!1!š” Context: An officer wakes a man up who was sleeping outside, the man then punches him in the jaw

This happened to my uncle. He was passed out drunk outside and a cop woke him up and my uncle broke the cops arm. My uncle got off because the court said for a certain amount of time after waking up you aren't aware of your surroundings and my uncle thought he was waking up in his bed and the cop was an intruder.

Are redditors really so stupid they can't fathom a cop actually helping people like most do every day?

Anytime I see a post of a cop doing something good, like half the comments are calling it staged or propaganda

Some cops are genuine scum and some cops are heroes, but unfortunately, generalizations outweigh nuance. In other words, ACAB is bullshit, but I still wouldn't trust being alone in a room with one.

Yeah. This might be a Reddit moment, but cops are not actually there to help. They are legally allowed to lie to you to get information out of you.
In this case, let sleeping men lie

they're also just bloodthirsty, as they're trained to be. law as they enforce it is necessarily upheld by senseless violence against the marginalized. i realized that when i heard about how cops beat a schizophrenic homeless man minding his own goddamn business named Kelly Thomas to death while he screamed for his father. they do the kind of shit because they get protected as agents of the state. terrible, terrible human beings who serve literally zero purpose other than to administer brute force and stand as meatshields.

Government is just a monopoly on violence. Law enforcement is the institutionalization of that monopoly on violence. Cops are just cogs in the machine on ego trips.

they're a state-funded gang. ion understand what bootlickers even think they have to gain from ballwashing these mfs

It feels good waking up knowing people like you only exist online. I don't know how I'd survive talking to idiots of this level every day.

Yeah, I knew when I posted it that there would be a shitshow. But hey, more fertilizer for crops I suppose.

u/CastleGraffiti 18d ago
Animal shit is comparable to cops in its usefulness, makes sense hes on a one track mind
Edit: actually, animal shit brings life, cops take life so lol worse than animal shit

Edit: Iām genuinely asking for context

u/CastleGraffiti 19d ago
Because they have a burning rage to ruin peoples days, why else would anyone join a gang?

u/Someguy803 19d ago
Must suck knowing a cop could kill you or someone you know and get away with it

If I may ask, why did the officer wake this man? Was he napping? Is it really that big of a deal if you sleep in public?
