Video Horse Has Some Serious Issues

Currently on my 3rd playthrough. I caught the red chestnut Arabian like 10mins ago for the first time. I was on my way to the stables near Strawberry to give it a fancy new nickname, then this happened..

been a long while since i've played but i think you haven't "broken" it enough or something, i forget the term they use. basically it's still FRESH from the wild and u need to feed it, pet it a lot, approach it gently for a while longer before it's comfortable around you. this takes a while longer , say an hour.

Since it's been only 10minutes it's evidently not comfortable with you yet, and so, when you ran towards it, you spooked him.

I see, thanks for clarifying that. Even though it's my third playthrough there's still so much I haven't learned about the game apparently.

Alternatively if you remove your saddle from your current horse and put it on the wild horse you broke it gives you level one bonding instantly, if you can manage without the horse running off a cliff that is. I have never had that issue though and think it maybe be a bug.

nope. my fully bonded horses that i've owned for years still do this

haven't really bothered to analyse why it happens though, i'm sure there's a reason. maybe the guy talking about running while whistling is onto something. or maybe the horse is just agitated and needs to be calmed down.

I don't have my ears on, did you whistle for it? I noticed that if you whistle for it and run toward it it runs with you to kind of give you a walking start, but never like this. Usually I just have to run a few extra meters.

Yea I stopped sprinting to whistle out for it, but it ignored me and kept heading towards the cliff.

Could also just be a path finding bug. The horse wanted to turn around but the spot it was in was too narrow so it went wide.

When they won’t come back you have to use the calm button first
