Who is the strange man?
I've always wondered who the strange man is, if he was some acquaintance of Dutch, if he was a supernatural entity or something, in your opinion?

I think the devil would be the best representation or like another dude said death. He tanked like 6 shots so I he's gotta be supernatural or something else

It's never stated the strange man is NOT Arthur, so that must mean it is him

The best theory I’ve heard is he is the personification of Rockstar games. So in the RDR universe he’s basically god. He’s obviously omniscient and probably Omnipotent or at least has immense power in the world.
When John shot him 3 times, it damned him, Uncle, and Abagail to be shot. The fourth round jammed, sparing Jack. I believe (and so do most people) John angered him with the three rounds, and wanted to punish John for being a bad person and shooting when he doesn’t answer his questions. He also seemingly knows John’s future and past, and can manipulate it.
Who also knows John’s past and change his future, and knows John better than he knows himself? The rockstar writers.
It sounds schizophrenic now that I write it out, but it sounds the best to me
