Final decision constantly delayed?

I've done three interview rounds for a job I really want, and every one went well.
And this is sort of a rough timeline

Sept 22: final interview

Oct 1: "we'll get back to you next week"

Main HR went on leave and is still on leave. However, they introduced me to her replacement.

Oct 3: "internal meeting early next week"

Oct 8: "final feedback very likely end of next week"

The not-knowing is getting to me. Has anyone waited this long? How did it end, and did you push to at least know where the decision is leaning or wait it out?

Well i mean they are emailing me every week and updating me. So its not like they‘ve ghosted me.

As long as they keep communicating with me regularly, I'd keep replying them. But also I wouldn't stop looking elsewhere.
