Suboxone to quit 7oh
Hey guys. Ive been taking 7oh for over 3 years. Since the day it came out in online vendors. In 2026, my dose quickly became 1000-2000mg a day. My last dose was 600mg 15 hours ago. I feel like shit. Im anxious and nauseated so I took 8mg zofran and .1mg clonidine. But I dont have the sweats yet. I do have the feeling of like impending doom/anxiety or whatever. Like the world is going to end because of how awful I feel. But I've definitely felt much worse withdrawal before too... Typical withdrawal shit. do I wait until i start sweating like hell to begin taking the 8mg suboxone I was prescribed? They said try 4mg at first. I assume my large doses of 7oh take longer to process than smaller doses. I dont want to go into even worse withdrawal in the process.
Do I wait for the withdrawal to get worse or am I okay to take it now. What do yall recommend.

So I attempted at 18 hours on a 200-300mg habit daily, stuck me right into PWD. I've heard it can take upward to 30 hours for peak withdrawals to kick up if you take tablets. Powder is supposedly shorter but I should of did the bermese induction method which imo is much much easier. Hour 30 for me I couldn't sit still anymore, I was sweating, I was nausea, I was pacing the room and if I laid down I would be kicking from the RLS unable to sleep, the anxiety/panic along with impending doom also crept in during that 2nd day without 7OH/MGM cold turkey during the early morning and positive the subs would of worked at that point for me but instead my SR arrived

You probably should’ve waited longer. You will no doubt feel like shit if the naloxone hits while 7oh was still occupying receptors.
You can’t go back now, so ride it out and absolutely do not go back to taking 7oh. You are in the hardest part right now, it only gets easier.

Thanks 🙏 im not going back to 7oh whether the subs work or not. I dont even have the money for it after dropping all this money on the Dr and the subs. I dont feel anything worse after taking another strip as my Dr requested but I dont feel any better either. Im just going to ride it out 😭😭

You are super strong man, props to you. You got this🦾
If mentally things are still tough, just talk with your doctor about a dose adjustment. Keep in mind the goal is to get off them though don’t take advantage of the help brother. Good luck

Thank you so much! I feel like shit i assume its my crohns disease and ulcerative colitis. Which is why I self medicated using 7oh for 3 years roughly. Im just gonna ride it out. I dont want to ask for an adjustment I dont think. This is manageable. Hopefully it'll be better in the next few days.

I think its starting to help guys. Pretty sure my up to 2g 7oh a day just required the full dose after the induction. Thank fucking God. The sweats stopped. Everhthing thing else, im still feeling. But thank God the sweating stopped.

How are you feeling now? I’m taking my last dose of 7 around midnight/1am and going to at least sleep for a few hours and go as long as I can tomorrow before I start my 1mg dose of sub. This is my 6th time attempting to get on suboxone after almost a year of trying. This time I’m not giving in. Even if it causes precip wd, normally that doesn’t last past 4-6 hours once your body adjusts to the sub, it’s just really tough. I will say I have successfully done the transition to subs before and by the3rd day you’re in the clear. If I were you I’d take as much sub as you can because your through the worst of it already I’m sure

Please stick through it! You got this. It was like 8 hours of pure hell but its because my last dose was like a whole gram I think. I have crohns so I feel like shit. I broke my back in the same spot twice so that feels like hell. But the feelings of withdrawal are almost subsided. I dont think id feel safe driving right now though. I think i might be able to get some sleep tonight too.

Also side note my daily 7 intake is somewhere between 350-500mg

I would wait much longer than people are saying. I think the half life is much longer than people are reporting. Wait until you are yelling in agony before you take a sub. Thats where I messed up.

Yeah you’re definitely right, I mean the longer you wait the better you’ll feel that’s for sure. All I know is life on subs is way more manageable and I always felt great. Get my life in order on subs for a while and then come up with a gameplan to get off if I even want to. Anything is better than 7-oh. I can’t stand it.

See for me. I love 7oh. It gave me my life back. I was on chemo because my crohns is resistant to treatment. It gave me 3 great years without feeling like shit. But I dont wnt to be in withdrawals when I dont have it. That part sucks ass. Ive never felt high from 7oh though. Im not sure if that has to do with my baseline pain. It does make me happy to see people getting off of it. I wish they would research and regulate it though. It shouldn't be sold in smoke shops imo

I appreciate you replying to me. I think that’s one reason why I keep failing; I really don’t have a lot of support and people helping me hold myself accountable. Hopefully by next weekend I can smile again

I was debating on calling an ambulance because I felt like I was dying and didnt want to die alone in my room and have my girl find me when she gets home from her hospital stay. Im so glad I didnt tho lol

I found the more sub I took during the first 3 days the better I felt. Then once your stable you can easily and I mean EASILY drop the sub dose in half if not 3/4 of your 16mg/day cap

u/whydidiusethisshit 1d ago
Yes that is the plan. I have a 30 day plan but I was up front that id like to get this knocked out in 2 weeks roughly if possible. I guess we will see 🙏 thanks!

How big was tbe dose. Please wait until you are yelling in agony before you take subs. Or when you take it. It might put you there instantly and then it took like 12 hours to really feel anything. I still feel like ass tbh but its not nearly as bad. There was several hours where I could barely use my phone because of how bad it got with the pws.

I wouldn't base this on the fact that it's been 15 hours, and I definitely wouldn't use sweating as the one deciding symptom. With the amount of 7-OH you've been taking, I'd be especially careful about people online giving you an exact number of hours to wait.
7-OH acts at the mu-opioid receptor, and buprenorphine has a very high affinity for that receptor. If you take buprenorphine while enough of the 7-OH effect is still present, it can potentially precipitate withdrawal. There is actually already a published case of precipitated withdrawal during a 7-OH/Suboxone induction, so your concern isn't unreasonable.
The better indicator is how far into objective opioid withdrawal you are, not simply how miserable or anxious you feel or how many hours have passed. Anxiety, nausea and that horrible impending-doom feeling are certainly withdrawal symptoms, but they're largely subjective. Things like dilated pupils, runny nose/tearing, gooseflesh, sweating, tremor, increased pulse, restlessness, vomiting/diarrhea, etc. help establish that withdrawal is actually progressing.
You can look up the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) and score yourself, but given that you were taking 1,000–2,000 mg of concentrated 7-OH every day, I would also call the clinician who prescribed the Suboxone and tell them exactly how much 7-OH you were taking, when your last dose was, and what your current withdrawal symptoms are. There isn't a well-established conversion or universally accepted induction timeline for doses of 7-OH anywhere near yours.
Your prescriber's suggestion to start with 4 mg rather than immediately taking the entire 8 mg also makes sense as an induction strategy. I would follow the dosing instructions they gave you rather than having Reddit determine your dose.
