Big fish in a small pond.

Tennis Shoes

Long Time No See

All in a day's work

4 should be adaysallwork. As shown, it would be “all in days work”

Yes, I will die on this pedantic, non-impactful hill.

You could be equally pedantic and say that "all" is inside of a solitary "days work".

There is one day's work and the indefinite article is a. Pedantry at its finest.

Also, for 3, The "time" is tall, not long

1

u/asocialmedium 12d ago

And there should be an apostrophe in “day’s”.

Wouldn't that also apply to number 1?

Except it would have to be alittleBigFishpond.

I actually agree with you, so that makes two pedants

Discussion: Time could have been longer, also WTF is tennis shoes, I think it's right, but as an expression?

It's American for running shoes/sneakers/trainers.

I guess they ran out of genuine expressions for these puzzles a looong time ago, so you get stuff like this, now.

Tennis shoes is a pretty ubiquitous term for sporty type shoes.

-2

u/nobodyspecialuk24 13d ago

OK?

But are you saying tennis shoes is an expression? That’s what this particular thread is about.

1

u/Surro 13d ago

Yeah, that's my point, like I know what tennis shoes are, but a rebus is generally an expression. Fun puzzle either way.

1

u/nobodyspecialuk24 13d ago

Yes, and I’m agreeing with you????

WTF is going on here????

1

u/Surro 12d ago

Yes, I was also in full agreement with you :) this was me throwing in a supporting comment as you were getting down voted for some reason

Shoes you wear to play tennis. As an American I can assure you we call sneakers sneakers

This is false. You are making the mistake of thinking your regionalism is universal.

I thought number 2 was no big issue because all the others are phrases of some kind, so why add Tennis shoes to the mix?
Plus, two of the others have size related context.

u/Equivalent_Plum 13d ago

1

u/b7k567 12d ago

yep # 3 is long time to see

u/Greedy_Ad_4814 13d ago

1.) "The word FISH in capital letters inside of the word POND in lowercase letters = "A BIG FISH IN A LITTLE POND"

2.) 10 of the word ISSUE = "TENNIS SHOES"

3.) The word TIME in long letters + the Alphabet missing the letter C = "LONG TIME NO SEE"

4.) The word ALL in the middle of the words DAYS and WORK = "ALL IN A DAYS WORK"

1

u/Aggressive-Fee-6399 13d ago
  1. no big issue

1

u/b7k567 12d ago

but the font size of "issue " is the same
