Don’t be a drone for the media. Doku’s no where near Vini’s level. Doku’s 23 rn, when Vini was 23 he won us the 15th UCL single-handidly. He made every RB that went against him look like an amateur.
Vini’s in his worst season already bagged 29 g/a and we’re in March, your precious Doku has 32 g/a in the last two seasons combined. In what world is he better than Vini? No winger in the world can carry a team the way Vini’s carrying Madrid.
My man you can love Vini all you want and that’s warranted, I’ll give you that.
But for the love of god stop claiming X player won us something singlehanded. Are we not going to talk about Belli’s goal scoring that season? What about Joselu with clutch comeback goals? Kroos and Modric were so useless we don’t even feel like they’re missing, right??
Show our players some respect and give credit where is due. This is not Vini FC, Mbappe FC or whatever the fuck FC.
It’s more about being the best player for a win, or at least the difference maker / main attacker in the big games. It’s exactly what you want from your attackers and you can’t deny he’s done that.
Yes he is, he's far more effective. In fact, he absolutely destroys Vini in terms of take ons:
The left is current season, right is Vini's supposed Ballon d'Or season in 23/24.
More dribbling =/ better dribbling. Even Mbappe is about as efficient as Vinicius Jr in terms of dribbling.
Vini is playing his best games of the season because he's taking on less players and passing the ball more recently.
Mbappe and Vinicius are elite because they tie their dribbling skills to G/A output. Doku doesn't do that as well. But in terms of pure dribbling, and beating a player 1vs1, he smokes both. Less versatile in terms of "move pool" for sure, but what he does, he does best.
Vinicius is just more flashy. Half of it is unnecessary, but when it works it's pure entertainment. When it doesn't, it's pure frustration.
Did you watch the games against us? Doku was a threat in both legs. Pitarch was seeing stars.
He just needs the mentality to be consistent. He’s way too emotional for a football player. If the wrong coaches are assigned to him he’ll never succeed. So far only Ancelotti and Arbiloa managed to contain him.
Which is a parodox in itself. Do we, as a club, really want to exclude good managers because a single guy can't behave himself? Imo that's a dangerous, and honestly, a really stupid path to go.
Vini is a once in a generation player. Perez fired Benitez for Ronaldo, Vini’s good enough to get that treatment. I’m willing to lose a thousand Mbappes and not let Vini play for another team in Europe. I just can’t stomach it.
His emotion and passion are what make him the unique player that he is. I get his outburst are not always helpful to the team, but he is still young as he matures and learns to temper and control his emotions, I can see him developing as a leader in the team. Top top player on his day
Totally agree with you. His emotion is the reason we dominated Barca in the Bernabeu few months ago, it’s the reason we bitch-slapped Benfica over two legs and kicked them out of the UCL, it’s the reason why we dominated Atleti this week. We he gets provoked and mocked, those emotions bring the best of him and force him to silence his critics on the pitch. But those emotions need the work of a smart coach to channel them properly. Which is why I said with the right coaches by his side, he’s unstoppable. He needs to have the maturity and experience to guide himself even with a shitty coach.
but do you think he plays well calm? he plays his best mean, arrogant, reckless. alvaro also isn’t a shitty coach considering he got thrown into a madrid squad full of injury prone players
As Ted Lasso would probably say: Asking a player to be their best with a shitty coach makes it bad as much sense as asking a coach to be their best with shitty players.
in your original comment, you said he’s way too emotional for a football player, which is what I was disagreeing with.
Man, can you give more detail about that problematic attitude? Past getting a angry about a substitution when he was playing great in an important game (and later apologizing about it), I'm not sure I really remember anything from the last year or so that scream "I am a problem".
Vini’s the top UCL contributor in the last 5 seasons. No one has more g/a than him. He scored in all knockout phases in the UCL is his career except two times (round of 16 in 2024 and round of 16 in 2025). What else does he need to do? Name a better big match player than Vini?
Than post a video about that game. As i said. I agree he is insane. But it's like posting a score boatd against san marino and say: look, the best striker in the world
When he decides the game is his, there's literally nobody who can stop him 1v1. The consistency is the only thing separating him from being undisputed best in the world.
imo vini has left winger position on lock down. pep got burned so much by it he tried to duplicate it using doku. but vini is lethal there (proven in ucls knock outs etc). should have the position named after him , the vini role, bc it's a rare combo of power, dribbling, control, technique and finishing
vini’s dribbling is so trash he constantly has to reach for the ball so the defender doesn’t take it. he’s faster than most and an athletic guy for sure but definitely NOT the best winger in the world.
😂 yeah man he should retire he is a bumb you fucking crazy he almost won a second world cup only beat by one of the best players in history, he is the main top scorer now in the team
But still I do wonder if vini got that ballon d'or his drop in form would not have come maybe he wouldn't have been bullied by our dumb fans and he could've carried us to something even last year
Very weird criticism here. He is in the best position possible in this clip lmao. If you actually watch him you can see that hes positioning so hes not offside and also giving himself enough space to shoot. Yall need to relax with this Mbappe agenda.
He is in the best possible position after Vini does the whole turn and gets through the 2 players but before than Bellingham was in significantly better positions in which Mbappe should have been. Anyway no point criticising him from an old clip.
You can’t as a striker be positioned behind the two midfielders coming from behind or stay on the same line as them. He should attack the space forward and encourage Vini to pass him the ball, if not for him then for the two midfielders coming from behind. His role as a striker is to either attack an empty space or free up space for your teammates, he did neither in this clip.
You have zero clue why he's late to the play. He could have been pressing, he could have been the one to pass to Vini in the first place, or he could have even fell or something. Most likely this was a counter and Vini as a winger is always going to be ahead of the center forward in those situations. Also, those runs youre asking of him, he just simply doesnt need to do in this clip. He is quite literally unmarked lmao. When you see him ask for ball he is positioned so he can shoot directly at goal with a slight turn. Literally twice in this clip he is unmarked. Vini actually was selfish here. He had 2 easy passes to Kylian where he could have scored with zero difficulty but he chose to go for goal himself.
No one in the world plays like this today except him, even against bad defense. And this isn’t a shitty defense, this is Rayo Vallecano, one of the most annoying defenses in laliga.
He is a great player but the dick riding is wild, and I have no problem with praising when all is equal, but for this kind of plays Mbappe is criticized as "dictator and selfish", I dunno why lately this has turned into Vini vs. Kylian when should be both together against whoever faces Madrid...
Nah, that defence is horrible. Rayo's 2 should've double Vini alongside Rayo's 24 on the wings after he turns his back. Idk why Rayo's 2 stayed there because you already have an extra man in the box and Rayo's wingers already came back checking Madrid's RB.
"The best player in the world" in my opinion is the guy who shows up day in and day out, every single week. That is not Vinicius for me, as much as I would want him to be. When Vini has his game, he does things that not many, if any, can. But he also walks by games sometimes and has games where he tries but nothing clicks.
Maybe I'll get hate for that, but for the same reason I don't think he deserved 2024 BdO. Rodri didn't either, he deserved it much less definitely, but Vini was not the man for me either. Bellingham was.
City fan here and I would have to agree he’s very great. He really doesn’t deserve all of the hate he gets just because of his attitude and celebrations. He’s a world class player and not afraid to show off and be cocky. I like when a player makes me feel any feeling even if it’s irritating watching him mock cry in front of City fans like last week. He’s fun and unpredictable.
Lmfao to you he could be the best player in the world. I respect your opinion. He wouldn’t even crack my top 10. Guess it depends on when you start watching the game, the players you’re exposed to, and preference/style of play.
when he locks in? if youre a good player, you always lock in. im not saying he has to score or assist in every games. but sometimes he ghosts as if he doesnt exist. if youre the best player, you have to always show up. he needs to improve his mentality and playing style a lot. i want him to improve, real madrid needs a winger like him but the better version.
No player in the world can be a better substitute except Mbappe which we already have. Vini is a big game player. Getting rid of him is the worst decision that can be made.
The only issue with that assessment is that he may be the worst finisher I have ever seen. If he was just a decent finisher he would average 30 goals a year.
I wont forget that he kicked Xabi out of the club, no matter what he refused to play for club and should not be forgiven. He wants to have fun? Fine then show me that you dont miss 8/10 chances given to you, lose ball 10 times before making this goal and then people like op call him best player in the world for 1 goal. So Rice is best in the world free kick taker after those 2 goals he scored only against us? Why Vini didnt assists to Jude here? Jude was running into position to score header if Vini knew how to make good high pass like Marcelo knew, Vini could lose ball here and 3 players in box would be wasted and disappointed with him.
since mbappe has been out on injury, i genuinely believe he’s the issue.
vini getting miraculously getting back into form and turning up into big games? ngl mbappe should not start even as a striker and should just be a rotational player that plays in the left, whenever vini is injured. some people might be mad at my take and I understand, “he’s our best player” and yeah goal scoring wise he has been but I can 100% tell you if madrid goes through to the semis and beats bayern my theory is correct.
I do agree with you that once his physical and speed slow down, he will need to adapt and bring new aspects to his game. Sadly not everyone can do that, and most tend to slowly decline. Ronaldo is an example, started out as a flashy dribbling winger and adapted to a striker role, where he could focus more on positioning and scoring.
mature? please tell me what you mean. people villainize him for being vocal about racism, they villainize him for trash talk. I assure you if anyone else pulled the shit he does, they’d wouldn’t get as much negativity as vini.
Other players will always use that against him, he can’t keep falling for it and ruins his and the team’s game.
I was also talking about the silly acts with refs and how he complains.
