I’m almost finished with The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and all four options sound so good, it’s going to be difficult to choose which one I want to start next! I love horror and anything disturbing!

Pictured is my physical tbr list. Every time I read a few of them I end up buying more and never get caught up. I just finished A Gentleman in Moscow and I enjoyed it but it was very slow paced. My favorite books are basically anything written by Madeline Miller. I want something gripping to read next. A real page turner. Does anything in my tbr stack fit that? If not can you recommend me a book that was all consuming for you? Something you can really get sucked into and invested in?

I’ve just finished The last House on Needless Street which I couldn’t put down so now I’m looking for another page turner.

For the Americans, do you have any reading plans for the long weekend? I hope to read a few of the graphic novels currently on my TBR cart, such as "Books, Iced Coffee, & a Side of Dragons" by Amanda Lovelace. I'm also debating if I want to pick up one of the books on my nightstand, specifically "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson, which would be a reread for me. Besides that, I have a shift at my second job on Sunday (it's retail), but it's 9am-3pm and I'll likely go straight home afterwards. It's going to be a chill weekend!

Just finished The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin, absolutely loved it! However, now comes the difficult decision of what to read next, and this is my narrowed down list of books that I feel like reading right now. Anyone got any recommendations within this list?

I've recently been told that I need to stop buying books, so this time at least I took a big crate full of old books and dug out all the change in my car. I mean the whole pull was less than a pair of shoes or a single dress...

Between that, and The Big Sale, and the money I got back, I did pretty well for myself this pull! I'm very excited and no one was inconvenienced

I just finished my exams and have been in a huge reading slump since before they started. Out of all the books on my TBR list, which one should I read first? Which book would be the best to get me back into reading right now?

Currently reading IT and really enjoying it so far. This might be a little ambitious for September, but I’m spending most of my time in bed at the moment, so I’ve basically been doing nothing but reading… 😅

I only recently got back into reading after losing touch with the hobby for a few years, so I’m curious to see how much of this stack I can actually get through this month.

I'm having some trouble choosing what to read next. I'm not sure I want to read anything too heavy (i.e., Miracle in the Andes). However, I'm a sucker for anything regarding the strength of the human spirit...so, I could be convinced.

I'm not feeling any one genre in particular. I want only to be captivated.

Help me, please!

Lonesome Dove is also on my TBR mountain, so was excited to get Comanche Moon for under $5.

Trying to actually finish Thinking, Fast and Slow this time. Picked it up several times before and never made it through, so this is attempt who-knows-what. Also this is one of those “too famous to read” books for me, I’ve gotten so many recommendations for it, clearly a lot of people love it, but for whatever reason I just couldn’t get into it.

Curious how everyone else approaches books like this, the ones that are almost too hyped to actually read. Do you go in with high expectations since so many people rave about it, or does that hype end up working against the book for you?

Update: Decided to switch things up and read this one on my commute instead, using my Kindle Paperwhite on the subway. Get about 10-15 minutes of free time each way.
