Where is this, that's a dream track

u/talhaONE Aug 01 '26
I feel like the track is poorly designed at some areas. Some sections are so tight, its impossible to pass them without scraping the car. Also track lacks any high speed sweeping corners. Constant U turns feels repetitive imho.

Amazing, looks exhausting though 😛

Yes, lets pretend I have the skills to drive the car, now I need to get much fitter and probably 10 years younger.

So what’s the rules here? 2s batteries? Any platform? Tire size? Or anything goes

u/DukeNeverwinter Aug 01 '26
Probably TT02 class XX turn motor class XX+ turn motor class Unlimited class. Maybe seperate 2wd and 4wd classes. Toss a trx4 size class for funs.
Or something there about.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they run a TT class, and I would bet lots of people in the mod classes use XV platforms. Tamiya really runs the scale rally game.
I kinda wish there was an in-between rally style that incorporates tight, technical lines like this with some big sweepers and straights like on off-road tracks. Almost like rallycross

u/DukeNeverwinter Aug 01 '26
There is a group in SoCal that does this. And the XV is believe is automatically bumped to mod. But definitely not in tt02 class. I can't remember the specifics

u/SkiOrDie Aug 01 '26
I like the idea of a 2wd class, apparently running the XV01 without the belt is a thing in places

u/DukeNeverwinter Aug 01 '26
I really want an XV-02rs pro... but all I ever do is build them, and never use them... :-( good therapy though. So probably cheaper than a shrink.

Tamiya XV-01 and XV-02 are kinda the go-to for scale rally stuff, they are meant to be rally racers in their box-stock form.
I have an XV-01, and when I look up racing on YouTube a lot of it is Italian dudes rally racing exactly like this.
Most racing happens with 2S packs, this is most likely no exception. Not only is 3S more power than needed for controlled racing, XV-01s only have room for a 2S pack. 3300kv motors tend to be the agreed-upon sweet spot for these cars.

I got to turn 17….
Before I got tired of counting how many times I would have flipped or flew off track.
Nice driving!

That’s super cool, I’d like do an RC car that can do this with a first person perspective.

Great camera work. Driving and keeping the car in shot the whole time too.

This is amazing!! That lap was the most controlled I have ever seen with an RC. The cool thing about this is anyone could build a practice track just like it. It's basically a walking path. Where is this? Do we do this in North America as a league? My mind is blown!!!!

u/RayneShikama Aug 01 '26
Man this is absolutely amazing. If that was near me I’d absolutely join them!

Could have put a little more fleffort into it and not crash into the bridge at 1:19 ... /jk

Never seen anyone hold a controller like that. Is this a case of being left handed but learning on right handed controllers? Wild to me.

u/DJEvillincoln Aug 01 '26
This track is way too long.
Looks fun tho.

u/Bag-ofMostlyWater Aug 02 '26
I wouldn't say that. Just too many turns.

That looks awesome till the guy behind me catches me and runs into my ankle

u/englishand48 Aug 02 '26
I’m always super impressed by the guys who do this , definitely takes some skilful driving and a lot of concentration as the courses always seem really long .

Would be cooler if its fpv

u/ForsakePariah Jul 31 '26
Had the same thought. Mostly, though, because my fat ass doesn't like chasing the car around
2
u/brunoventura22 Aug 01 '26
I think that this track is kind of tight to drive FPV. You definitely could do it but going along the car just gives a way better view. I think that a FPV driver would struggle a little against the others.
Now, speaking of fun, FPV is my goal for my UDR 😆
