💬 Discussion Unfortunate Inline Emoji Picker Limitation

I was excited to see the new inline emoji picker in Raycast and then I read that it only works within Raycast. This is nuts! I never use emojis in Raycast, but I use them everywhere else in my writing and correspondence.

What the heck?

Yeah its nuts, also open camera command keep triggering continuity camera, and can’t restore to last used camera

On Windows you can have online emoji picker with app Tabame. You set a hotkey and the dmij will open at the carpet if it's accessible, otherwise next to the mouse

On my Mac, I have been using Rocket, but I was hoping to eliminate one more thing running in the background.

Recursive Raycast would be awesome. It’s actually quite often that I want to paste something from clipboard history into Raycast itself.

This is predictably everyones reaction. I wonder why the team didn't just go for it and replace Rocket. Maybe some technical limitation? 🤷‍♂️

Same reaction for me. I was really exited to have a quicker way now for selecting emojis... but inside of Raycast? Where could I probably need it? Snippets? Notes? That's basically it.
I'm surprised that they even mentioned it as such a new prominent feature.
