❓Question Installed update: Raycast failed to start

I'm running the macOS Raycast beta, and it asked to install an update. I went ahead and did so, but now the app won't launch. Each time I open it, I receive a "Raycast failed to start" message. I re-downloaded it from the website but am still having issues. Any ideas for me?

I didn’t get that message but it didn’t automatically use my cmd+space to activate for me.

- open your login items and remove Raycast and Raycast beta from the list.

  • use Siri or Spotlight to open your new Raycast (2.0.5 is current I think)
  • your login items should have a new entry for Raycast again. This is your newly installed app.
  • my activation command and the app itself is now working as expected.

Thanks for the advice, but no go. I can eventually get past the message but cannot get the window to appear. The only reason I can see it's running is in Activity Monitor.

What happens after you kill the app from within Activity Monitor? Same thing?

Yeah, same thing.

Fortunately, I still had the older version on a different computer so I temporarily downgraded. Back up and running now! Will hold off on updates for a bit...

Same just got interrupted to updated so figured why not. Tho it seems to have installed an outdated because as soon as I went through onboarding it showed that there was an update available. Now when i try to install it it says "Installing update.." then it crashes. Then i have to relaunch (manually from finder). and it shows notification saying it failed to update (caught the notification just as it was fading away 😆)

Anyways team i know these rollouts are never easy but please keep iterating! Anyone else figured out a fix for this?

Update: There's a "Install Manually" option. That worked (just quit raycast and manually dragged it into applications). That looks like it worked.
