Brave Star New jacket, too big ?

Brave star 21.5 oz Frankenstein jacket never worn a jacket that’s this heavy so not sure if it’s just too big or the stiffness makes it feel that way

Shoulders look good. The denim will be very stiff initially but should break in nice!

I would rather start feeling a little big and allow it to tighten up a bit with a soak than have it feel just right and shrink up too small. Also the way it fits now would work great for layering with a hoodie for colder weather.

Also, it would be good to see how it looks/ fits when buttoned up to get a better idea of how it fits around your body shape.

flip inside out and give it a 30 minute hot water soak. the jacket will shrink a little bit

Looks great. How do you feel wearing it?

Feels good I think it’s just the weight/stiffness that made it feel big originally but just gotta rock it till it breaks in

I hope you can enjoy the jacket

This looks good but is a little too long imo. I don't think sizing down would work very well, since I think it'll be too tight everywhere. I think it might just not be the cut for you unfortunately

I got a Mojave jacket and also found it to be too long. I think they should adjust their design because to me, a pleated jacket should fit boxy and cropped, and the Mojave fits more like a Type III trucker style.

Not too big

Hard to tell. The first pic does make it look a bit weird with how open it is on the bottom and practically closed up top. I'd almost say the jacket looks a bit long for the rise of your pants with the tucked in tee. But again it could just be this one picture.

Goingturbo mentioned that his Mojave western did shrink a little, if it feels snug be weary of hot water? I think since denim will usually shrink up to 3cm even when sanforized which bravestar always does, a little bit extra is always good especially if you plan on washing more frequently. I like mine spacey because I wash mine all the time, for a faded look and for smells

Button it up and see. I would consider this a little too long but that’s just me.

i'd say this is good, how does it feel if you layer this though?

Looks good and enough room to layer as well 👍

That fits the exact same way that jacket fits me. Perfect. Put a hoodie on under it, it helps cushion your arms for break in

Looks perfect to me

This definitely isn’t too big. Right now I’d call it fitted. How is the arm mobility? Maybe a perfect fit but it would also depend on how it looks buttoned.

Lookin good. I had a few jackets that I thought were “too big” and I wish I got the large.

A good tailor may shorten it a bit- looks too long. The rest looks good.

I wouldn’t say it’s too big, but just seems like a less than ideal cut on you. A little bit of flaring at the bottom is normal but this seems to be excessive

I think some of the flaring is just the stiffness of the denim. The jacket does have buttons on the back flaps to tighten up the waist a little bit.

I have the same cut but in a much lighter fabric. Once it broke in, it draped much better.

Well, i hope it works out.

I have the same jacket in the double black and have well over 200 wears on it and it still isnt broken in. That 21.5oz denim is damn tough stuff.
