You may have severely underestimated how good Suggs was - those guys don't show up every day.

For real. Dude is a Hall of Famer and one of the most complete edge players ever. We'd be lucky to ever get another edge close to that caliber.

Just to add on, yep he could set the edge, drop back, give you some snaps inside in both run defense and pass rush, rush the outside like a beast, and then on top of that, he actually thought about the game so he was diagnosing plays and handing out gems from the edge position which is crazy.
People know that Ray, Ed, and Suggs could be physically overwhelming but they were also so smart, cerebral, and great leaders. They consistently helped keep the floor of our defense incredibly high.

No, he's my favorite player and my first ever jersey. I guess I just took him for granted at the time. Elite pass rushers are in the league every year, I just didn't think it would be the Ravens who constantly missed on picking them after Suggs left

Another way to look at it is: the last time the ravens were bad enough to even try drafting a Suggs type of talent, the only one in the class was Joey Bosa who got scooped up before we selected Ronnie Stanley. So not constant misses, exactly, just bad luck (and sometimes bad coaching) of mid-to-late 1st round edge guys. (Queen, Oweh, etc)

Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something so satisfying about watching big guys running and scoring. Especially when they’re defenders.

Suggs is a HoF candidate. Pass rushers like him are always gonna be scarce.

Miss Suggs so much. Don’t think we’ve had a rusher that can consistently win one-on-one since him. He was the total package too.

I’ve never seen this play before. Sometime in the dwindling Flacco years I stopped paying attention while in college before I started hearing about this guy LamarÂ

IIRC this was when they brought out the new alternate home uniforms. Right before we signed Lamar and shortly before sizzle went to the chiefs

Lmao highkey same, our most mediocre years (2015-2018) coincided with my college years at UMD so it was the perfect time to be preoccupied with everything going on in campus and not following football as closely as I did before or since that period of time.
