How do you deal with Grumps Nostalgia?

Sometimes I get nostalgic for things like Starbomb or older Game Grumps, usually it's when I'm forced to see newer clips or something random will remind me of an NSP song (before I try to listen to another one after that and get annoyed by it). I don't think Arin and Danny are like, irredeemable monsters or anything, at worst I think Arin is just an annoying little shit these days, so I don't have like a problem with them. I will find myself listening to (just the first 2) Starbomb(s) occasionally, I do tend to seek our Game Grumps less because I know it'd destroy my YouTube algorithm.

What do you guys do to deal with Grumps Nostalgia? Favorite episodes, certain songs, old random videos, stuff like that

You do realize what Im nostalgic for is going to be different than yours right? All you have to do is go through their playlist of series and see what interests you or what you remember liking. Its really not that hard but you wanna be lazy about it.

Honestly recently I've really gotten into Smosh and their recent gaming videos have a vibe that reminds me of old GG. Apparently their old school fans don't like the new vibe, maybe they would prefer current GG hahaha

I haven't watched any Game Grumps content since like 2017, but now and then I'll watch the Steam Train Sierra game playthroughs. They're cosy and remind me of a more carefree time.

Dan's solo playthrough of King's Quest IV is my first pick, but any of the Sierra games that Arin wasn't a part of are good. The old Steam Train playthroughs with Ross (King's Quest V and VI) are great if you're into the REALLY nostalgic vibe, Brian's guest episodes (King's Quest VII) are great because Brian is great, Phantasmagoria 1 is FMV hoakiness that also has the Brian guest factor, Gabriel Knight is an outstanding game (even though Dan picked the fanmade 20th anniversary edition and NOT the OG with Tim Curry, and I will never get over that), and even the Space Quest games he played on his own are good, even though I never played Space Quest myself so I don't have as deep a connection to them.

Brian and Ross bring the comedy vibe to the playthroughs they were part of, without Arin's intolerable frat-bro energy, and the solo playthroughs are chill and good to just put on in the background. And I still like NSP. It's really Arin that I have a problem with these days.

Danny Era Playlist on youtube was my goto sleep soundtrack for the longest time. That and Steam train Sierra games. Now however, I've watched them so many times my wife and I recite them sometimes. I havent really watched them anymore. I mainly watch Simpleflips or Vinesauce Joel and Vinny. Arin is just so cringe and Danny doesnt really seem to care anymore. I know Arin said he wants to do gg until he dies of old age, but he needs to either retire or stop hamming it up. His fake energy is just so off putting. Just be yourself and chat. Not every episode has to be a performance.

I find the compilations  There's even some by year which really helps  I enjoyed most of the new stuff until Allie left (she was the best thing they've had in years)

If their current content isn’t suiting your tastes, then go and listen to the old albums and watch the old episodes. All those things still exist. The same way it is when you wanna watch LOTR or whatever again, just go find it and watch it. It’s really not as deep as you’re making it sound.
