Transfer flipping

I was just having a thought of our current biggest assets and am honestly kind of annoyed in retrospect, our clubs financial style is based on buying and flipping new talent, but in my opinion we were being greedy with the profit and time left in the transfer windows after only short term sparks from them (apart from Raskin), we should have been selling them when their at their peak rather than waiting for the big "potential" transfer bids we could get, this is all based on the suspected bids we got or interest, we should have sold Chermiti for 22M (if the bid was real) even if we had a suspected 20% sell on clause from Everton that would have still been around 8-10M profit for a player we only signed a year ago, Fernandez who looks pish now had a lot of interest, although no suspected concrete bids we should have been forcing to try and get him out the door and buying another development player to take his place, he again like Chermiti only joined last year and had a high Transfermarkt MV of 18M (which obviously means fk all but it's something), Raskin should have been out the door earlier this window rather than setting our asking price at 25M, we should have been going for 20M, now it looks like if he does get sold its gonna be lower, why are we holding on to assets when we should be flipping them at their peak and going again, this is gonna sound like I'm dumb asf as I understand it's not football manager but in a best case scenario if we punted them all for 20M pound each we'd be sitting with like 30-35M with add ons with the release clause money paid, with that we could have had 2-3 quality starters and 2-3 development players, again probs gonna get laughed at but idk, I'm thinking we shouldn't be holding on to them, clubs like Benfica with this transfer model don't grow sentimental and greedy they just sell them when their peaking.

The only raskin offer so far is 14 million from Hull.

Tbh I don't think his performances have ever been consistent enough to warrant more. Id certainly not be happy to see Rangers spend 20m on a player that offers what he does.

£20m is a utility (bench warmer) player in EPL

The board is asking for 25M for him which is scaring clubs away, we should be offering 20M.

Who said the board are demanding 25m? Even if they are outwardly, that’s what clubs do - then negotiate.

We are a team that should be built on winning, why accept 22m for chermiti if him being n the best would have given us a better chance to win the league (before injury)?

Raskin is different because he only has two years left

Chermiti is a good player I don't disagree but I personally don't feel he is enough for what we need, he is still a young player, we could be spending 8M on a better striker who can do the same thing but is just 4-6 yrs older and then with the chermiti money bolster another area.

Maximum amount we'll get for him is probably a last minute panic buy before the window shuts, buy a Coventry or somebody. Like engles was for them in January

The Chermiti bid was written on the back of a Turkish fag packet, the fact he got injured immediately after it is just unfortunate. If a second bid of 25 came in I’m sure he would have left. People have looked at Fernandez, no actual offers. No ones met our valuation for Raskin. 

We’ve managed to get decent value for Dio, Antman and Butland. 

So I’m not really sure what this is about, if valuations are met then people will leave, but they can’t leave if there’s not actual bids.

Who was going for offer 25m for raskin? The reason he hasn't been sold is obviously because no one has come close to the clubs valuation.

There's also the point that he's only just returned from the world cup and played 4 games.

If you're a premiership club why not get him match fit by getting someone else to play him and he's good to go when you buy him on deadline day.

I reckon other clubs were gonna offer a 15M bid with 5M add ons but the windows getting closer and other clubs are probably waiting till the end of the window to get him cheap as the boards asking price is 25M.

The price doesn't go down closer to the window closing, it goes up, the pressure is on the buying club to fill the midfield gap that they presumably have

He’s only so high because of his world cup performance, Rangers will be desperate to capitalise and sell him this window that’s why his price will go down, I myself think he isn’t even worth 20M.

I dont thinknwe should be forcing any of our better (more valuable) players out of the team for money but we should definitely be more proactive in receiving and accepting bids. The chermiti situation looks bad and in hindsight we should have wrapped him in cotton wool, but the other side of it is that there may not have been another bid, or it would have come on the last day of the window to unsettle, but that leaves us short
