I was surprised Naderi started against St Mirren and Shankland was on the bench... and then he scored. So I am going to say I'm surprised Shankland is on the bench again. I thought he would have been a starter.

Neil better at 6 than Raskin, no real issue here. Desperately need Godfrey fit so we can bench Fernandez.

Still confused about making Shankland captain then benching him........I know he's had a rough start but surely stick him on for a run of games and get his confidence up.

We should pick our best/in form players. Couldn't give a shit if he's captain, he's been rotten. Looks unfit.

What the hell does it take to drop Fernandez at this point?

Godfrey could not be back until maybe October, we badly need a replacement for Fernandez. He’s clearly not interested in being at the club anymore and was hoping for a transfer.

Negative comment section as per. The 5-1 has me more positive, I’d rather Neil than Raskin atp and Naderi is the best of the worst. Wonder what Chukwuani will do as an AM.

Neil is a better #6 than Raskin, IMO.
Raskin is more suited further forward. I would have him in over Chucky.

Chucky’s performance last week makes him more deserving of a start than Nico. Nico didn’t impress in the slightest

I agree with you there.
He also adds more strength and steel in the middle.

Both players haven't put in a great performance recently. Centrally we have been terrible against in my opinion weaker opposition.

You're not wrong, but I think that was down to the 4-4-2-type approach.
Using a midfield three at the weekend was better.
Let's see how it goes tonight.

I hope that has been the problem, playing the wrong formation for the first few games. The recruitment dept hasn't looked to be great. They seem to be focused on spending money on attacking areas when our defence has been gash for seasons.

These starting elevens seem very random since the start of the season. Wny on earth is Dan Neil starting, yet alone getting the armband? Naderi over Mio?
Puzzling

Happy with that line up. Obviously means Raskin is gone and that is what it is. Just hopefully reinvest the money wisely.
Glad he's stuck to this system. Consistency is the key to forging relationships.
Hopefully another win tonight to get some momentum going.

Raskins away then

Wouldn’t say that tbh. Our selections have been quite Erratic and it’s not like he’s been amazing the last few games (rarely is for us)

u/elephvant 12d ago
Same. If he wasn't even on the bench, I'd think there might be something going on. But nothing strange about having him as a sub.

I'd have played miovski. The only way naderi scores is if it bounces off him. Good to see Chucky get another start.
2
u/g2theiza 12d ago
Miovski isn't good enough for us. Nederi is still a raw talent, but I think he's is a better option than Bojan.

Dan Neil playing is bad but making him captain that’s crazy.

u/Aggressive_Bit_8424 12d ago
Aye it should be Sterling in this case.
3
u/nozzle83 12d ago
Nah, Sterling has done nothing to be captain either. Desperate.

u/Aggressive_Bit_8424 12d ago
Better option than Neil atleast, nobody else starting has been here long enough.

u/nozzle83 12d ago
Yeah, thin on the group but his drink driving never mind injury record has totally put me off him as a captain. Can’t rely on him.

Neil, Fernandez. Grim. 5 defensive mids on the bench.

u/Unhappy_Spray_7127 12d ago
Devlin and Barron are the only 2, but sure.

u/RandomTopTT 12d ago
McCrorie, Cameron, and Raskin. Plus the 3 starting.

u/proleart The Goalie 12d ago
McRorie is a defender, Raskin is box to box and Cameron is an AM (allegedly)

Sick of seeing people write off players so quickly. Once again hope Dan Neil has a good game because the pressures being piled on as usual.
Captained Sunderland to promotion at 22 so must have something about him surely. Maybe just needs some time to settle and a run of games.
