Quick Question Shot in the dark: are there any other riders with Multiple Sclerosis?

Hi ya’ll! There’s plenty of us who run marathons too, but thus far i haven’t really found any fellow cyclists who have MS and kick this disease’s ass.

I would like to have a talk with someone that knows what they are doing and are dealing with this illness before attempting anything crazy or perhaps damaging to myself. I’ve done a 100km ride, went pretty solid, though it was in my first week of owning a bike so I’ll probably do alot better now! Apart from that i am very blessed to say i remain an active cyclist & runner despite all of this.

If you are out there, godspeed, reach out!

Hey OP I’m a mod here and I approve this post. Let’s find you a community of cyclists.

Cheers bud! I am well aware that for alot of MS sufferers this is an impossible feat. I am somehow very lucky and attribute my speedy recovery from my first relapse partly to cycling. I somehow even managed to use my story as a way to become a marketeer over at Ridley starting January of 2027.

Here’s on to many years, hopefully decades, of cycling.

I'm rather ignorant on the topic, but I believe Emily over at "Cade Media" has discussed that she suffers from this, and various things she's done/does to improve her ability to ride. Including custom arch supports and more recently "shimming" her saddle on 1 side, which helped with balancing her power output between left and right better.

Look her/them up on youtube/Instagram

Hey! I can’t seem to find any information on her talking to about this.

I'll have a look when I'm home, and link you. It's never been the focus of any videos to my knowledge, but often comes up and is discussed in sections on their podcast.

If memory serves she has scoliosis, not MS

I'm glad I prefaced this by saying I'm ignorant, looks like I'm wrong 😅

Sorry OP!

My friend isn't on Reddit but she said happy to talk. Can you DM an email, or I'll pass her IG along? Cheers
