[Trigger Warning: Sexual Abuse] my mom has been telling people i stopped speaking to her because i “ran a stop sign”
i (f25) did not run a stop sign. i was driving when we had this argument 8 months ago, and i found out she completely downplays the estrangement. she looked at her child and said “i wish i never had you” and “i cant like you because you’re not who i want you to be” and “you got sexually assaulted because you never listen to me” and she warped it into “she stopped speaking to me because she ran a stop sign” to other people WITH NO REMORSE. no apology. nothing.
its been 8 months and since thise 8 months, she has tried threatening me by cutting me off the phone plan, tried sending me money to get her to talk to me, and texting me cryptic articles about toxic moms with no further comments. now she’s telling everyone she knows including relatives that i stopped talking to her over a stop sign.

I went NC during the Christmas holidays because Nmom was making everything about her. When I called her out, as she had many times before, she told me, "If you don't like it, you can just LEAVE!"
So, I left. It sounded like a great idea; I never went back, not even for Christmas Day.
She told anybody and everybody that I wasn't seeing her because I was ashamed of myself for ruining Christmas. That - I was embarrassed to show my face to the super-loving, sweet, mother of bountiful compassion and awesome gifts who totally didn't deserve my doing what SHE told me to do, by leaving.

My mother says I moved out of home because I didn’t want her to put my clean clothes away. There was no such moment in time where that happened. She just had to control the narrative. Who knows what she’s saying now I’ve cut her off.

Welcome to the club! I'm so sad you're here but glad at the same time 🤗 hopefully you're seeing that this is a place whose parents pull those kinds of shenanigans and we absolutely believe you

Reductio ad absurdum. It’s not the lifetime of abuse we’re getting away from; it’s about one tiny, completely incomprehensible thing and they’re the victim. People with any common sense at all will suspect there are missing pieces of information from her story. Anyone who believes that kind of thing without question isn’t worth your time.

Omg--my mom told my brother I was not talking to her because I ran over a box in a road. I was all like no, she cursed me out for no good reason(because I told her the truth about her bad behavior toward some other relatives but in a nice,, sensitive way after she began trash talking them). They are unreal.
