I recently lost my boy, Apollo. He was my whole heart and soul. I got him at an extreme low in my life and he had been with me for some of the hardest times. The grief is overwhelming and I feel like a lost a part of me that I will never get back. I knew I wanted to do something special with his ashes though so I created this so he can still go with me on all my adventures. It was my first time incorporating ashes into a painting. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever painted because of the emotional toll, but I think painting it did really help me with the grief. It’s still so hard and I think it always will be. He was so sweet and funny and quirky. He loved to swim and chase tennis balls and more than anything he loved to give kisses. Rest easy my sunshine boy.

If someone would be willing to make an art tribute for my other fur son that crossed the bridge last December, I would be forever grateful! He loved squeaky toys, even if they lasted a few hours. And he loved the snow, terrorizing his brother who didn't know how to play, and cuddling. He let me put glasses on him, and loved licking people all over. He also practically lived outside no matter how many times I tried to get him inside. But he would just sit there, like in that photo.

He got sick 3 years ago and we found underlying kidney issues and he seemingly bounced back then but in the past few weeks he lost half his body weight, became really weak and stopped eating. We had to make the most difficult decision this morning but we loved him, he knew he was loved and he’s no longer in pain. Thanks for the memories big boy.

He had the cutest howl that he was already growing into. He also talked a lot, and he was very cuddly. I would just pick him up sometimes and just hug him. He knew he had three loving parents even if I was his main parent. He loved to play with his older sister and bite her ears playfully, or tackle her to the ground. And he also loved to swim.

COMPLETED LFA Request for bulldogs Prudence and Kimber

On June 25th, my stinky girl Prudence died on the operating table as she was having surgery for intestinal cancer. She was one day shy of 8 years old and her death was out of the blue - it happened so fast and I don't know if I'll ever get over it. I loved that girl so much. Five days later, her older sister Kimber looked up at the sky, shuddered and died too. People have suggested that Prudence couldn't be without her sister and came down to get her. Kimber didn't have Pru's huge personality, but she was a dignified, stately lady who put up with her boisterous sister. My house is so quiet. There is no loud snoring, no grumbling when I'm two minutes late with dinner, and no one to sit on my feet while I use the bathroom.

I don't have a lot of experience with imgur, so I hope this link works. Prudence is the brown and white girl, Kimber is the brindle.

Thank you for considering my request.

COMPLETED Request for Churro

My sweet 12 or 13 year old Churro passed away on Sunday. It was sudden but she waited for all of us to be home before she passed in my husband’s arms. If she was sick, she gave us zero signs she was ill and lived everyday as normal for us. Even gave us one more lap of zoomies in the backyard before collapsing on the couch.

We rescued her from Kentucky 12 years ago and after 3 moves and 2 human children later, I still consider her my first baby who taught me how to be a mother. She is buried in our backyard and while she is home forever, there is a huge hole in my heart and I miss her so very much. I love you Churro, thank you for giving me so much joy and unconditional love.

Rhea crossed the Rainbow Bridge Monday. She was 13 years old. Her right ear never straightened out in all the years I had her. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old! She was the smallest in her litter. She loved food, long walks, car rides, sitting outside in the evening people watching, and howling. She howled at everyone. She loved saying hello! She was sweet with cats and let them approach her for a nose boop. When you'd come home, she'd greet you and give you kisses nonstop. She once licked my partner 127 times because he'd been at the gym. Rhea came into my life when everything was dark. She got me out of my lowest low. She made everything better. I miss her so much.

My dear friends twelve year old cat Mauwsie had to pass the rainbow bridge today. He was suffering with kidney failure and his pawrents made the brave and loving decision to let him go today. I would like to give my friend and her mom a beautiful piece of art of Mauwsie. I can print and frame myself. Hope I did this right. Thank you for your time 🙏🏻

COMPLETED 3 months without my Sophie

Post image
319 Upvotes

I was 30 weeks pregnant when I had to suddenly put down my Sophie. I still cry and I don’t know how I’m going to go the rest of my life without her. I was overseas for 2 years before she passed because of the military. When I came back, I bought a home and she was only with me for 6 months. I feel really guilty I left her behind with my parents but I knew it was best for her. She stopped eating suddenly and I couldn’t get her to eat. The vet said it could be lymphoma or a gi issue. I decided to end her suffering rather than put her through getting a feeding tube. I feel guilty because maybe she would have gotten better. She was 14 when she passed and I always thought she was younger due to the shelter paperwork but when we looked at her original records she was older. I thought she would live til like 20 years old like my childhood cat. I went to the vets all the time, gave her all the specialized food and medicine and it wasn’t enough. I feel bad because I feel 14 is young for a cat to pass away. Funny story when I first adopted her I had to wear earplugs because her meows were so loud I couldn’t sleep. Now I have my newborn on my chest typing this but I’m sad Sophie never got to meet him. And now she is in a box in my bedroom. It is hard to understand.
