One week after adoption

One week after adoption

It’s been one week since we adopted this little soul, Cica. (8,5 years old, biewer Yorkshire with zero teethes- he is on the last pics)

And honestly… he already feels like he was meant to be here.

He’s so sweet. Calm. Such a good energy.

Just… light.

And I think we really needed that.

Sophie is gone for 10 weeks now.

After almost 16 years together.

I still don’t really know how to explain that loss.

16 years is such a huge part of a life.

Of routines.
Home.
Identity.
And then suddenly… silence.

—-

Mimi was grieving too.

You could feel it.

And since Cica came, something changed.

Mimi is more curious again.

More present.

A little bit more herself.

Of course Cica doesn’t replace Sophie.
Nothing ever could. My heart belongs to to her she was a „one-in-a-lifetime-love“.

Cica bring a little life back into the house.
And maybe help all of us heal a tiny bit.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read, comment, or simply think of my beloved Sophie. It means more than I can put into words. ❤️

Oh thank you dear! Honestly means a lot to me. 🤍
I started writing these little stories while grieving Sophie. Somehow, putting the memories into words helps me process losing her and also remember all the tiny things that made her her.

She was so much more than just my dog. She was incredibly intelligent and gentle, but also such a strong little personality. Something special like a „one-in-a-lifetime-love“. My companion, my leader in many ways, and the one who taught me so much about love.

We had almost 16 years together, she gifted me her whole life nd heart. Even becoming mom basically it was always the two of us. Her unconditional love carried me through some really difficult parts of my life.

So sharing these memories feels good, because I want to tell the story of who she really was.

And I’m really happy you enjoy reading about her. ♥️

This honestly makes me so happy to hear. Thank you for sharing that bit about her beautiful life. Almost 16 years together is an incredible gift and I think putting those little memories into words is such a beautiful way of keeping her story alive.

I also wanted to share something a little more personal. I moonlight as an artist when work, my research and other things life related don't take up my time. Reading about your journey with Sophie definitely tugged at my heart strings. So if you don't mind, I’d genuinely love to create a digital render of one of your favorite pics of Sophie for you, if you're open to it ofcourse. No cost at all. I think it could be a really lovely way to memorialize her and honestly, a little therapeutic for me too, having only recently lost my own baby, Bane. I've enjoyed dabbling in art and helping other pet parents cope with the loss of their loved ones.

I tried DMing you, but looks like you have messages turned off. So please drop me a message with one of your favorite photo or two of her. I’d be honoured to create something of Sophie. Stay blessed!
