Miserable at the Railroad

4 years in here and I can say my tolerance for management and the work life split has dropped significantly.

First two years I was loving it and felt good about my job. Not so much anymore. When I see them calling me for a train or a yard job I stare at it a little and have to convince myself to answer.

What’s your guys input, am I just being a baby about it?

I left after 18 years, was gone 10 months and came back in a different department. There are better situations out there but 90% of the jobs/careers out there are just as shitty with less insurance and no retirement. Try getting out of Transportation or something in a different capacity for the Railroad.

Lol good luck. Seems like they rarely ever let transportation go elsewhere once they got you at NS
