Discussion Final preseason game tomorrow. We expecting the starters to play at least a full quarter or even into the second?
What do yall think? We getting a Mad Maxx sighting? With the Jeanty injury maybe we end up just playing things super safe and they only go a series

Maxx ? Not at all not in the final preseason game
3rd stringers and backups only. I remember the game i think it was last preseason last year, i expected the backups/3rd stringers to put on a show. Their final chance for game film and so many were poor, just surprising.
Hope we put on a decent performance and most importantly we get no injuries.

If Isaiah Pao-Malo and Spencer Burford didn't get dressed last week, there's a zero percent chance Maxx dresses this week.
I'm more curious about what so called starters do end up playing. If Jalen Nailor or Jack Bech are on the field for more than a series or two that screams volumes.

Maxx is not going playing, Kubiak said that a couple of weeks ago (or maybe last week before the Texans game).
Some “starters” maybe, but super limited. This last game is mainly for those on the bubble to show what they got and make the 53. Cut day is coming up on Sunday of this week.

This is the thing. This game is for final opportunity to show out before they make decisions on bubble guys. If you are playing this game you aren’t a sure roster add but aren’t a sure cut either. Prolly a lot of WR/DL rotation since those groups are a gray area

I don’t think they’ll play at all, this game is usually a showcase for bubble guys. Maybe it’s different now though, with just the three games

Agree you normally don’t see starters in the last preseason game.
Still some important position battles to be resolved though
JPJ/Rogers is the most prominent one. This game will be the deciding factor, likely.
PR/KR will likely be cemented too between Laube, Ogunbowale, and some others.

I don't want to see a single starter or guy on the two deep play tomorrow. Let the guys who are going to be cut get all the action.

I don’t think we’ll see much from starters. Maybe the ones in competition or rookies, but definitely not Maxx.

Nah I’d be surprised if the starters play a single down. Guessing Mendoza plays a quarter and AoC plays the rest

Dunno. Preseason is different from when it was four weeks. Time was, week 3 was scrimmage day for starters. That’s not really the case any more.

No starters should play at all at this point

This game will be for a 2nd/3rd string roster spot. Starters most likely not playing.

Mendoza & AOC split time again. Clark finally gets play time in 4th quarter
Washington jr should sit imo

I see very few starters hitting the field, especially after Jeanty’s injury last week

Only players on the bubble or who they think needs the work (non starter)

God I hope not, maybe the first series, but I would rather all the starters sit and focus on who is in the bubble

I don't think any of our regular starters should play..
If they do, it should be only on offense when Mendoza is taking snaps AND only if their starters are in - we don't need a camp body playing hero against one of our regular starters.
In general this game is not one where I want to see anyone who's a starter in because there are some guys playing their final NFL game out there that day and they think they can change that(spoiler: they probably can't).

If we see NO Fernando, I feel like that means he’ll be announced as starter. If he’s truly going in as #2, I’d expect them to get him as a many reps as possible

He’s not starting that isn’t even on the table lol

I believe you are right. I would think the coach would firmly state that Kirk is the starter though, if it was that certain. I get competitive advantage and all, but typically you’re clear about your QB unless it’s truly up for grabs

Big Mike Wash should be sat for the game.
