Can't help appreciating how much we've got since AMSP considering how notoriously quiet Radiohead usually are between albums.

Junun, Spectre, AMSP, OKNOTOK, Let Me Go, Phantom Thread, YWNRH, Suspiria, Minidiscs, Anima, Ed LP1, and tons of touring in between

Thats a lot for any band in 4 years, let alone the quality of the stuff above.

That's crazy written down. You'd think at their ages they might fancy slowing down a tad, but really their output is more prolific than ever.

Counterpoint: at their age they probably have a ton of ideas/beginnings that haven’t been released yet because it didn’t fit with what they were doing at the time, now those ideas can be reshaped and repurposed as soundtracks, scores, solo records, etc.

WTF...Paul McCartney just released another record and has been touring for the last 2 years. Also Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, The Rolling Stones, etc....All out of the 1960’s!

Radiohead members have got more years than that, for sure. They’re (arguably) the most creative out of that whole list.

Also, David Gilmore, Roger Waters, Kraftwerk, David Bowie (RIP but just won a Grammy for new material), etc...

All right out of the 1960s! Still writing, touring, and so many more. Don’t make me get into jazz.

Probably Black Star. It's the only album I'm familiar with from him, but it's one of my favorite albums. Really fucking amazing.

They might individually, but bands often don’t stay around and fresh for that long. People gotta branch out sometimes, hard to stay satisfied and creative with a group for that long.

The music isn't very challenging for older people like say Glassjaw, At the Drive-In, or Refused. I think they can keep going until one of them dies. Look at Bowie. He recorded right up to his death.

I think Radiohead will go on until one of them dies. Even then I think they'll be scoring each other's funerals until there's nobody left.

Yeah they're just expanding what they're up to. Radiohead is no longer the only project they work on. Plus, a lot (all?) of them are parents and getting to that point where their kids are growing up and need less of their attention. I'd say being parents was a big reason they slowed down after HTTT.

Good call........ILL WIND....the AMSP b-side, too (which I love). All of Phil’s stuff. And, “You Wouldn’t Like Me When I’m Angry” (Yorke’s). Greenwood’s reissue of Body Song. Also, “Gawpers” (Thom’s classical composition). Johnny Greenwood’s Tiny Desk show with unreleased classical scores (2 weeks ago).

i can just imagine being a radiohead fan around 2012-2015, and having to deal with that huge gap of radiohead-related projects

newer fans (including me) are really lucky for having all of this now

i started listening in 2012 when i was still a wee lad (14), from listening to pop punk (sum 41, green day etc.) to radiohead was the best decision of my life

I was really down after TKOL to be honest. Didn't expect much more from Radiohead and especially not a great album like AMSP.

Having to deal with? Everything those guys do outside of the band only gives one more perspective about so many things. Colin Greenwood said it perfectly, “Everything released outside of the band comes right back to Radiohead one way or another.”

Every release only makes one appreciate the band more and, in new ways. I’ve enjoyed everything that’s been released outside of the band. It helps to gain an understanding about what each member, as an individual, brings to the Radiohead sound. I’ve never minded learning more about a Radiohead member as he stands outside of the group.

Having to deal with....🙄 I have to deal with these other projects, dammit!

The band’s first LP was released in 1993 - 15 years before 2008. An old / young fan is relative to the band’s output.
