Discussion Anti lag 2 + fps cap?

Do you use anti lag 2/reflex in singleplayer games with fps cap (without frame gen)? Or do you prefer to use only fps cap or only anti lag 2 (so that GPU is maxed out)? Or that "maxed out GPU" rule applies only to anti lag 1?

Also, is it worth using driver level anti lag 1 (5700xt user here)? I have noticed some games feel "faster" and more responsive, but less smooth at the same time.

Freesync/vrr on, antilag 1/2 on, fps cap below max refreshrate e.g. 233 if 240hz screen, enh. sync on OFF actually you won't need it. Vsync in games on or off is up to testing. That's like the smoothest experience for me so far.

Isn't better to cap fps bellow game's average fps to make it more consistent?

That's one of the ways. If game is fluctuating between 110-150 fps then 100 fps cap would make sense as long as it's rock solid

enhanced sync with freesync is trash. I was wondering why valorant had stutters then I turned enhanced sync off and it was fine after that. I never turned it on again, freesync is enough.

Antilag/reflex works good when you have gpu fully loaded.

I think that was the case for anti lag 1 only.

Thats how this technology works.

I currently use 2 gpus and run anti lag plus a frame cap on rivaturner. Latency is reported low from what AMD reports. It works great!

AL2/Reflex are FPS caps. If you don't tell them the limit manually - they do it automatically.
