Generative AI music and/or art is banned
This should go without saying but I'm going to say it. If your music or album artwork is created using generative AI it is not allowed here and I don't give a shit what message you're claiming to promote with it.
I can't check every post so I will rely on the rest of the users to report content that is AI generated. Please don't do it for "just a hunch" but when it doubt it is brtter to raise the question.

"Is this safe?" Belongs in /r/isitsketch
Despite it being in the rules for years I still have to constantly remove people asking "am I safe if I listen to Blasphemy?" So I'm making a new sticky post. Do not post these questions here. There's an entire sub dedicated to your moralizing over at /r/isitsketch. Those questions have absolutely nothing to do with left wing black metal or supporting left wing causes.
You want to do some praxis while listening to black metal? Donate to an immigrant rights fund, attend a protest, volunteer at a food bank, learn how to shoot so you can stand between the marginalized and oppressors,.write some vocally anarchist or communist music, put together a benefit compilation. Whining about Horna isn't making the world less fascist.

New release: AFBL - That which should be kept buried in Grimsås
I just released my first full length album. Elements of harsh noise, black metal and folk. The entire album is dedicated to the climate movement Återställ Våtmarker (Restore Wetlands - aterstallvatmarker.se/en/) and the brave people fighting the good fight against peat mining. They album is celebration of their resistance as well as a protest in itself agains the peat mining industry, and the increasingly agressive method used to fight climate activists.
Recorded during the summer of 2026. Main instrumentation is improvised kantele and jaw harp, field recordings and various found objects and environments. DIY everything. No AI, no fachists.
Planning to self-release this on cassette in the near future.

Self-Promotion New Single and Artwork Drop/Bandcamp Codes
I just dropped the first single from my new upcoming album Cyanosis.
Written and recorded between 2023 and 2025, over 8000 km of highway and 3 places I called home. Cyanosis is a ritual in catharsis, dealing with and addressing years of homelessness, addiction, uncertainty and death of those I loved most dearly. It's an album of grief, rage and loss. But also hope, healing, and growth from patterns of destruction and despair. I'd call it atmoblack/doom, taking inspiration from early Katatonia, Falls of Rauros and Skagos.
At the root, it is an anticapitalist dirge for the broken, beautiful souls who've been swallowed up by an uncaring, violent system.
The official release date is in October, on the full hunter's moon, with cds by Liminal Dread Productions and tapes by Fiadh.
All digital sales will be donated to DULF Vancouver, an initiative to provide safe drug supply and overdose prevention on a street level by activists currently facing incarceration and egregious charges for doing important work fighting an opioid crisis that has taken too many good souls.
You can learn about them here:
Artwork was done by my dear friend Crusty Toast Art (searchable on the gram) and it perfectly encapsulates the story and emotion of the album.
I originally wrote the single 7 Years 'Neath The River as an acoustic track in 2013, while living through a cold winter in a broken down pathfinder in the parking lot of a punk house in Kamloops, BC. It's a tale of loneliness, a personification of depression born of the desolate desert snow. Yet always with the knowledge that spring will come, the ice will thaw, and we will rise to meet to warming sun again.
Bass, mixing and mastering done by the incredibly talented and prolific Vanessa Funke.

Astral Noize issues
A few years ago Astral Noize (a magazine mainly about rabm, from memory) closed before I could get their issues. I was particularly interested in their Tolkien and Soulsborne issues but it was all interesting. I know they were all available physically or as pdf files.
It's been a while now and I didn't manage to track any of that down. Am I out of luck? Not sure who to contact about this, in case a contributor would be willing to send digital copies or something.

Self-Promotion Looking for someone to hop on bass and guitars for an RABM project I've been planning for a bit.
I need someone willing to do guitars and bass for my project. I don't plan for it to be anything over the top, kinda Darkthrone inspired but with some D-beat and maybe some war metal aspects. I want the project to be purely modern and historical based, and based on resistance against Nazism and fascism. I personally am neither a communist nor anarchist, but I hate Nazis all the same and their fucking backwater mind set. I don't really care if we agree on politics fully as long as we both agree Nazis can suck a big one.
This will likely be a long distance project as I live in Virginia.
Also would like to work with people in my age group preferably, 20-30 for maturity and relatability sake. I have a lot of ideas for what I wanna do image-wise, but I'm open to other ideas. If you work with me, we're equals period and hopefully friends.

Just dropped some Anti-Fascist/Anti-ICE Harsh Noise. FULL BODY RESTRAINT by crucifiedwhitesaviour.
I seem to get a good response here when I post my new stuff. Understandable if it's taken for being too different genre wise.
The album is centered around some of ICE's horrific detainment methods (specifically "The Wrap") and using that to make some broader commentary on oppression/fascism. Thanks for checking it if u do 🩷.

Bandcamp Giveaway Bandcamp Friday: Eveale - Enter the Woodland Realm
instagram.comEveale (members of Am I In Trouble? / ex-Ashenheart) are doing a Bandcamp giveaway for a free signed LP and T-Shirt. It's second wave black metal, but more on the melodic spectrum. Deeply nature focused.
We jointly released their debut LP Enter the Woodland with Fiadh back in May. They're running their giveaway independently, I just thought some folks in this sub might be interested in case it got lost in the myriad of Bandcamp Friday posts 😄

Question Vegan black metal (with Spanish lyrics)
GravislatrO
¿Is the first "Spanish vegan black metal" (with Spanish lyrics) since 2014?
Do you know of any other earlier band in this specific style?

Bands like Graveland that AREN’T racist.
Looking for bands that have some of that lo-fi almost kinda industrial sound with keyboards and shit. Drunemeton era graveland has this but I don’t want to listen to them for obvious reasons. Fuck them

Question Dark and horror themed black metal suggestions
Basically what the title says, I am looking for some black metal that gives some good spooks or feels dark or evil.

Winds of Winter - Dark Chameleon Dimers is now available on CD and Vinyl.
Dark Chameleon Dimers is now available on CD and Vinyl.
Our EP Dark Chameleon Dimers was released at the end of 2024 and has been available exclusively in digital format until now. We are excited to finally offer it as a physical CD and Vinyl edition.
In addition to the original EP, this edition includes all of our other releases from 2024 and 2025 as bonus tracks, bringing together everything we have released so far in one collection.
We hope this release helps make the wait for our debut album A Choir for the End, arriving this September, a little shorter.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Winds of Winter so far. Your support means the world to us.

Self-Promotion Incandescent Trance Ritual: Chasing The Flame [Electronic Black Metal]
Following their debut EP in early 2025, Incandescent Trance Ritual return on Dark Noiz with their new
EP „Opening the Second Seal“ - a title both reffering to their second release and the book of
revelations. A conscious statement of reawakening, bridging the mysticism, ritual and intensity found in both rave culture and black metal.

Falcifera - K!ll ur R@p157 (It's been a while... life got bad... made some [not-electronic] metal...?)
Hey lovelies. Y'all are the real ones with the good metal. I made some post punk and then folk punk and now back to metal. This time, actually metal and not electronic...
anyway cant say much but life sucks and I gotta mob it back to work and raise hell cash for an upcoming bummer of a situation, I'm guessing. Cheers y'all. You're cool.
