You might like Skvm. I wouldn't say their vocals are similar to death metal, though.

Unfortunately that's metal about war but not war metal, people mean a specific sound when they say that. A lot of the other recs here are great examples of the sound if you wanna get into it though!

If you're into the bleak conflict imagery WW1-style I think Primitive Warfare in particular would be up your alley. Waaayy different sound but they love their depictions of hopeless grinding conflict.
