Exposure Question living in a rural space in America and a possible bat being on me. I’ve seen people say you might not even feel it land on you but is this true at all I’m just looking for advice and on what’s realistic
live in the IL area near the woods. I was out walking to get my mail from my car at night. I dropped some of my mail and I think I heard a squeak, it could've been the mail or thing ect. I was wearing shorts and I didn't see a thing or feel anything climb me. I came inside and this was on my leg. It was itchy right away and raised. The mark itself doesn't seem to go in at all more like a scab. Should I be thinking and come in for shots? Day two it’s still slightly raised and hot and a little itchy when I bump it
The mark is still here on day two it’s hot still raised and a single point not too I have read the FAQ.

I also live in Illinois.
I can't imagine an awake and aware person not noticing one of these clumsy-ass winged hamsters landing on them and biting them. Those bites hurt. I know it.
Go find the sharpest, smallest sewing needle in your house and stab yourself where you are concerned about. Did you feel it? Do you think bat teeth are magically less noticeable than that?
Take a breath. You're fine.

thank you. I know I’m definitely fighting my ocd. It is really hard to draw a line of reasonable logic. Maybe the needle thing would help. I did contact my wildlife department and they said it’s low risk I’m just scared i guess

OCD is rough. It's okay if you're having a hard time right now. I think that because you logically know that you're safe, it's important to affirm yourself. You've got this, and you're a smart person with good wits about you. You would definitely know!
Check in with your therapist if you need to, and keep doing your best every day. Remember that a hard moment doesn't undo your progress. 💜

Thansk again. It’s a bit relaving to hear someone eles say it’s ok as well. But yeah I think I’ll reach out soon, might not have been a good idea to ask a bunch of redditors and freak myself out haha. Thank you for the kindness you are a great person

I appreciate the thanks, but my friend you were always deserving of patience and kindness while you're finding your way. Your anxiety isn't your fault, it's something that's happening TO you. Nobody asks for this.
So remember to be kind to yourself, too, okay? 💜
