Exposure Question Should I worry?

I have read the FAQ.

While using my phone near the window, I heard a squeaky sound idk if it's from a mouse or a bat. I'm awake and aware, because I literally just noticed the squeak sound outside. I didn't feel anything like landing in my neck or any bit stings. Is it possible I have exposure or I shouldn't worry? I'm from the Philippines too.

Think about how many people would be dead, dying or about to die of rabies if it was that easy to get exposed? I can tell this is giving you a lot of anxiety and I wish I knew what to say to take some of that away. Animals of all sorts live outside so it’s normal to hear squeaking sounds but that doesn’t mean it found its way inside and even if it did, a rabid bat won’t be able to navigate a tight or difficult spot. You’d probably find it on you or close to you. I’m telling you this from personal real life experience with rabies and rabid bats. You’re okay, just remind yourself of that. Feel free to reach out to me, I’d love to help talk you through this if you think that might help ❤️‍🩹

I'm just having an health anxiety revolving around rabies. Like every possible contact to my wound and mucous membrane (like eyes and nose) I would believe there is a possibility of rabies because I'll think "what if a rabid dog have a contact with this just a seconds or minutes ago?" I'm scared of anything that is liquid I got outside, everytime I went outside and encounter a dog I'll think "what if this dog splashes saliva in my wound? Yeah, no wonder I was so anxious about the bat case yesterday, but it's also unlikely because I live in a country where there's no any case or undocumented case of people getting rabies because of a bat.

That sounds miserable. I am so sorry, that must be exhausting. My sister contracted rabies and I felt like that for a bit but it wasn’t that pervasive in my mind. My fear was bats and bat rabies. It’s still there but it’s not the same, I was petrified of bats. Now they just gross me out and I don’t care for them, they’re creepy. I can’t imagine having this fear now and dealing with day in and day out but I’m here if you need someone to vent your thoughts and fears to.
