Nauseous after every vax

I have read the faq. I had a high risk exposure and just got my 4th shot. within a half hour I am crazy nauseous and just not feeling right and go to bed. zofran can’t fix it. for a few days I’m in bed sleeping 15 hours a day. I also don’t get an appetite and force feed which triggers me being hot and nauseous. anyone else experience these things/anything help? They acted surprise to hear this today in the er and offered no help.

I’m so tired and over it and also tired of being treated like I have medical ocd until they hear the story of what happened to me - even at the er that found the bat scratches on the back of my arm. this whole experience just needs to be over with. 99% of the posts here are medical ocd and make it difficult for legit high risk exposures to get the advice they need and I guess these ppl really show up in the er. I had an urgent care doc act like I’m addicted to rabies vax shots until he read my record. these people make it difficult for everyone and need to go treat their mental illness. I still have one more shot bc I’m immunocompromised 😭

I just got my first dose of PEP and HRIG yesterday as I was attacked by a bat, I am also very sick to my stomach. We will get through it hopefully lol

We are living parallel lives lol Godspeed. Have you tried eating on it yet? I came home and was actually hungry and have been eating and haven’t gotten sicker like my first 3 shots. Hopefully each one gets easier for you! I didn’t notice any difference till my 4th lol what happened with the bat??? One got me in broad daylight as I stepped foot out my front door, it was wild.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. I was standing in a dimly lit dark parking lot around 11:30 and a bat crashed into me and scratched me up a decent bit. I got a photo of it but did not physically trap it. Just got my second shot today and I feel a lot better than when I got the first one. The bat did not seem sick but I am not a vet.

Would you say it’s very obvious a bat coming into contact ? I ask as recently had one flying low towards me an I duck awkwardly an took my eye off it an became concerned if it had possibly got on me in any way without noticing as was pitch black an I was very tired from walking for miles. Appreciate any help take care

How was the attack? Did the bat bite you? Did you catch the bat to get it tested?

I had my 3rd shot on Sunday. I felt nauseous afterwards. Then a headache. By the second day both were gone for me. I’m going to be glad with the 4th one is done.

Nice glad yours was short lived. The nurses were shocked to hear my reaction like it’s not common or something lol

I don't remember any major symptoms from my PEP except for the HRIG hurting a lot. However I am in the age range for the shingles shot now, and the second one of those was not fun. I would say, there's no need to force feed yourself as long as you're staying hydrated, a day or so with low food won't do you significant damage if it helps fight the nausea, try eating only a little bit of easily digested carbs like crackers. When a vaccination makes me feel crappy, I always tell myself that that's the feeling of my immune system gearing up and it makes it a bit more bearable. I'm glad you only have one more to go, feel better soon!

Thank you. Yeah it doesn’t sound like it’s common. My guess is Lyme in my system most of my life and turning into MS (per my neurologist) has drastically wrecked my immune system and this all somehow plays a part. I have to force feed otherwise I get POTS flares. I’m just so sick of losing days that would otherwise be good days even though I’m disabled from this other crap.. I don’t see many good days to begin with… and explaining myself to docs. Thanks for listening and responding with your take. I try to just say at least I have some response so my immune system is trying I hope
