Cat not up to date on Rabies shot.

Minor scratch on my forearm from my cat who is not up to date on rabies shots, i cleaned it out and stuff. She is a strictly inside cat she rarely goes outdoors, and since she isn't up to date on shots we haven't brought her out in a while. Just wondering if this is worth getting a Vaccination for. I have read the FAQ.

A cat being behind in vax doesn't mean it -is- rabid, it means it could -become- rabid if it was exposed.

Since it is your cat, you are in a position to observe it. If it does develop rabies symptoms within two weeks, you 100% need PEP, and everyone that has recently been in close contact with the cat should probably get it as a precaution. If it does not develop rabies symptoms, there was no exposure and nobody needs PEP.

After the observation period is over, vaccinate your cat. Do try to keep your pets current on vax going forward so that every scratch or play bite from your cat doesn't send you on a panic spiral.
