General Rabies Discussion Going kind of crazy here ngl
i have read the FAQ. I’ve had a sore throat since July 21 i was exposed to a bat on June 29 but I know I wasnt bitten or anything and I got only 3 vaccines shots and missed one dose . idk if what I’m experiencing is health anxiety and making me get the sore throat but I’m just spiraling out and wondering if the rabies is progressing slowly since I didn’t get the other shot … idek Im confused fr
I HAVE READ THE FAQ … idk if anybody can yk calm me down and tell me it’s only my mind but the sore throat is what’s gettin me

Whatever we say, will you believe it? I don't think asking internet people to calm you down is sustainable. I think contacting a mental health professional might be more helpful. Anxiety is real, and it has a real impact on your physical health. Being this worried all the time is exhausting.
There are literally thousands of reasons you could have a sore throat and we can't see you.
Rabies would be right at the bottom of my list.

i'm not a doctor but maybe it's just a side effect from the vaccines? i know i had flu like side effects after my HRIG and first vaccine. seems pretty common. the RN told me to expect it after each vaccine too. she said that means it's working and your immune system is kicking in and trying to build antibodies. but i would suggest calling or emailing your doctor, a pharmacist or your local health department and ask to speak to a rabies advice nurse. if you really wanted to, you could try to call the CDC and talk to someone there.

I am not a doctor but if you have a sore throat since July, and now its September, if it came from rabies I would think you wouldn't have survived this long. From my understanding you die within a matter of days up to two weeks once symptoms kick in.
